Yep it's really that close the 4th of July will be here in only 2 weeks and 2 days and I have to start getting ready so
that means some peoples orders are going get out of here later than expected as I have turn away from lasers and
focus on pyro for the show on the lake so this is a heads up from me if you need something give me a PM but
I will not be making any thing on the lathe or mill for the next two weeks or until the last shell is lit :D

Any one wanting to post what they will be doing this year is welcome to post here.

Here are a few pictures I took the other day.

All of these cracker packs are old and collectible :D

The back side of that one.

These are not old and I have already been greasing the wheels of Independence Day with them :eg: they are packs of 16 crackers and lots of fun :)

Please feel free to post your pictures or stories about the 4th.

Everyone have FUN and be SAFE Independence Day

Nice pics! I wish I didn't have to cross the border to get some decent/actual fireworks. I've done a few sparkler bombs in the past, but it's nothing like lighting off some good fireworks. Usually a buddy grabs me some.

Idk what it is but the "Light fuse - Get Away" made me laugh

Haha, a few years ago when fireworks were still legal in some of the Southern Aus states I had a bit of a play with them - was good fun. Do remember those black cats well though, stuck a couple in a watermelon :D

You Americans are lucky, I love fireworks! Then they got banned because of a series of fires resulting from them :(

They aren't even allowed on Canada day or other celebrations.

Have a happy 4th of July you guys :D

they are illegal in MA but most authorities turn the other way on independence day. its good up at the lake since the law is a distance away and its in the middle of no where so they enjoy the show.......now for my lasers, only time will tell.

BTW, rebel Alex! dont let the man hold you down :na:

When I was younger, the "bad" kids in our high school used to go across the border down to Lummi Island and buy them on the Reservation in the U.S., then come back to Canada and sell it to kids at school about 4x the price. I remember paying $20 for a brick of bottle rockets and it seemed really expensive. I think they payed $5.

However the rumor was that the lady that worked at the fireworks stand on the reservation in Washington state would write down the Canadian license plate numbers and then call the border so she would get to keep the money and also get the fireworks back that she had just sold after they were seized at the border.

I think it used to be really serious smuggling fireworks that they could even seize your car if you got caught.

What I have always thought odd is that in Canada firecrackers and bottle rockets are illegal however the black snake fireworks that make the long crispy snake like ash I think are made of Mercury(II) thiocyanate are legal and lots of kids play with those here and get that stuff all over themselves without knowing what's in them. :(

Really wish we could get some of those in the pics FlaminPyro, I think part of the fun is all the interesting and colorful labels and wrapping they come in. I guess some of them are even collectable?

You are right we are lucky here in the USA at this point in time anyway but it's getting tighter all the time hopefully
100 years from now people will still be able to light there own fireworks for celebrations we will see.

Here they are legal for many things including weddings birthdays religious ceremonies and big sporting events

In some states the are completely out law'd just like in Canada.

BTW my first big professional close proximity pyro gig was in Canada I did Pink Floyd there :D

Every state has there own laws and in some states like here in Oregon you can light fireworks any
day of the year but they are supposed to be only the type that is legal in this state.

Happy 4th every one

Lighting fireworks (or anything for that matter) with lasers is ALWAYS more satisfying than with a lighter :D

and then the victory ritual of the successful lighting by shining the laser into the smoke left behind..

I've got a big stash of all kinds of fireworks. Mortars, cakes, rockets, roman candles etc. It's somewhat dicey to use them on the 4th though. Where I live they tend to have regional restrictions in the city as to where you can set them off. Mostly I use the fireworks on new years eve when everything is snowy and there's no fire risk.

You need to find some friends that live out in the country side or by a lake were you will be safe to shoot them on the 4th.

I just got back from the firework dealer and we made a big score about 2500.00 worth all mortars and cakes,
we will set some of the cakes off electrically and series wire them so we can spread them out about 12
feet apart and light 5 at once :D
You can see the electrical ignite'r wires folded up on the front of the orange cakes they are ready to go
The blue willow cakes on the left also have the electrical ignite-rs attached ;)

The Excalibur shells are the best Class "C" you can get I bought 8 boxes of them :D

i actually have a very good way to get $1000s worth of fireworks for free where i live, i generally ride around to the neighbors i know who go all out with the fireworks and just enjoy the show..
in fact my laser actually helps with this in that people are so fascinated by my laser being able to light their fireworks that they actually let me set up and ight most of them :D
