@DEMONEX, just an FYI, most transactions that take place on this Forum are done via PAYPAL. You should consider joining & opening an account. It's free & safe, & if you make Donations through your account as a "GIFT", there is NO CHARGE !!! rob

I made a donation a few days ago by clicking on a link on LPF. It presented me with a PP invoice where I could fill in the amount but I didn't see any choice for designating the money as being for goods or gift. I sent it anyway. In the future should I use the regular PayPal system that I log into and fill in Avery's hushmail address manually so that I can choose gift or is the PP link on the forum set up so that donations made that way are automatically sent as gift?

I did receive an instant "thank you" response from Avery's email.

Thanks,

Ed

I'd say that's the best way to guarantee that the Forum gets your ENTIRE DONATION>>

Wow you guys must be rich. 800 bucks for a monthly goal. Then again you are hardcore laser hobbyists so you have money to dish out. Otherwise how would you afford it. This must be the top site for laser projects since you have even your own donations committee.

Sorry too rich for my blood... and pockets.

You've made two posts, MrMagma. And both of them are bitching about how LPF is asking for donations to keep running.

What's your issue? This obviously bothers you quite a bit. Why?

A lot of people use this place as a hell of a resource. It costs Avery money to run. And he recently got hit with legal action that isn't -his- doing, but targeted at what conversations people decide to have on his forum.

Seriously, what's your beef?

I've banned him for a few days, see if he comes back any better and able to make some helpful posts instead of bitching about donations. Donations are so people who feel like giving back to the community for the help they've had or information they've found to help keep the place running, no one says you HAVE to donate, however if you have a few $$ floating around and would like to support LPF, then you can.

Don't like the donation goal? Don't donate, but at least make some useful posts instead of whining about it.

Just curious "im new" why did the donations rise from like 200something to 800 now??

NVM I saw, that stinks. You had to pay the lawyer? Or a fine?

A company contacted Avery with concerns over tutorials on how to disassemble their products.
Avery was force to go visit the lawyer regarding this issue. The raised donation goal is to help soften the burden of lawyer fees.
Avery should use my lawyer, he does a good job. :D

if anyone is not able to donate, one other thing that is very big help is if u make a youtube video with a link to LPF in it or something similar. the more visits the site gets generally the more it will make from ads, so if u have youtube videos or websites any links back are also very helpful

thx for the help all
peace
