Re: UPDATED ..Possible group buy on CNI Lasers

I just broke the Axle on my car(JUST got home from getting Towed) and with the impending charges I will face getting the parts and paying for service, there is no way I can stay in this GB. I wish I could, but there is no way. I am sorry guys.

Re: UPDATED ..Possible group buy on CNI Lasers

Ok so how many are for the 561 because I count 2 for now, smeerworst are you still in for the 589 or you want another wavelenght?
I can't afford a 561 now so I would be in for the cheaper 589. But at this point it all depends on Blord for the 5th laser, problem is that since there would be (maybe) 2 lasers of one kind and 3 of another I "hope" they will make us the discount. Anyhow not able to answer the question until monday .... We shall see....

Will do :)

Hope there are no problems with getting so much gift-money to my PayPal.

Actually it would make more sense if someone joining the GB handling the money and shipping transaction (Smeerworst?)

Anyone joing the GB should keep in mind that there is the possibility of custom problems with this. Paid around 200€ fees for ZRaffle´s 589nm back in he days.
Going to ask CNI for declaring the package at $45 - so there would be around $35 custom fees for the whole package.

For wire trasfer it´s $25 (both sides) and shipping from CNI $85 (maybe more due to the number of units), 2% extra cause I have to transfer the money I receive in US Dollar into Euro on my bank account and PP has a very bad $-€-rate (for the customer of course). Shipping to you, slowest way around $20 within the EU and $30 to the US.

An example:
PGL-III-C-589-80mW/Unit USD585 for 5-10pcs

$585 product + $12 PP-ratio (dollar-euro fees) + $5 wire transfer (buyer & receiver) + $10 custom fees (maybe it´s more, maybe less - will tell ya then) + $15 shipping (CNI to me) + $20 - $30 shipping (from me to you - individual, would be asked after I receive and tested the laser) = $640 - 650

I would be ready to help out, but people have to consider the above statements.

I had to pay over 400 euro to customs to recieve my Hercules.

That's the problem with these company's... and i hope there's a way around it.

I can't wire transfer, don't own a credit card...

Let's just wait what the OP wants and what he knows.

All i want is a PGL 589nm III-C :D

Full price or GB price...

GB price is better ofcourse.

The only help i can provide is to be one of the 5 contenders to get a cheap 589nm handheld.
I don't worry to much about customs, atleast not in my country.
Had those forms before, filled them in and got what i buyéd.

Re: UPDATED ..Possible group buy on CNI Lasers

There is not an answer on the exact wavelenght that comes out of the combination of the two colors. The only answer I got is that the 655/532 would be a nice gold yellow while the 640/532 would be more of a light yellow.

I am intreeged to this matter myself.

Now on the group buy...
Last communication I had with CNI they told me that first they DO NOT have any laser in stock, so they would have to make them, as for that reason, shipping times would be of about 3-4 weeks after we place the order.
As for payment, well I know you guys don't trust me (hope you get to trust me) so since another trusted member (DJNY)offered to help so be it.
CNI just accepts wire transfers, and as I know of they charge $20 for bank charges. Might be more for higher ammounts of money.

I asked them if I could purchase a demo unit of the multi beam laser at discount price and they did acept to sell me just the one unit, but after I knew that they didn't have it in stock and that they had to actually make the laser just for me, I decided to pass since it wouldn't be fair for the group to wait 3 weeks more just for me to review the laser and give you a judgment if it's worth it or not.

So after that I had no more comunication with CNI (weekend) and will hopefully start on sunday night to have some more updates.
I still don't know if they Will accept the offer of us buying just 5 lasers but of different wavelenghts, and still give us the discount.

I don't know CNI and don't know how big the company really is. One thing is for sure, if it's a big company, and if it was on me to decide, I wouldn't sell 5 lasers if not of the same wavelenght. If it is a small company, on the other hand, than It would be probably better.
Maybe DJNY that aparently has dealt with them before can answer that.

I am quite interested in getting a yellow laser, and I am doing an effort on my side to please all of you that also have my same desire, I hope you understand that if this group buy doesn't end as for the expectations, it will be not my fault but the lack of interess from members.

I do appreciate any suggestions or help from more experienced members and will try to take everything into consideration, but please don't forget this GB was started by me and I wouldn't like to have made the cake and that someone else gets the honors for doing it...(hope you know what I mean).

Thanks you all, and hopefully this GB will see the daylight. I will keep you posted on progress...

BTW, if someone more wants to join in.... please do ... we need all the potential buyers we can....

Re: UPDATED ..Possible group buy on CNI Lasers

My guess is 593.5nm since (532+655)/2 is 593.5
I can't see the laser itself right now since the site appears to be down, so put me down for a maybe on the 655/532 :p

Lol it isn´t that easy.

In fact, the wavelenghts are the same after combining.

For our perciptibility, it depends on the amount / power of green and red they use. As green is much more visible than red, I assume they use at least 3x the power of red than green.

IIRC member phoenix77 had one of these a few years ago, maybe he posted pics. You should look for them.

Re: UPDATED ..Possible group buy on CNI Lasers

You can't beat a single yellow dpss laser with a output of 80mW

People that havn't seen it before, it is way more pritty then any other 445 or 532 high powered laser.

You can share 473 and 589 as a same... both Nice!

Re: UPDATED ..Possible group buy on CNI Lasers

If we wait 2 more weeks, more paychecks will be in for these, and more interest. Just my opinion though.

Aren't these 80mW units usually overspec to about 90-100mW+? I know I've seen them around, but I wonder how common that is.

No guarantee for the lasers beeing overspec.

Of course norbyx and my humble self will push CNI and let them know that we have good LPMs, so hopefully people joining get at least on-spec lasers and no RMA is needed.

Re: UPDATED ..Possible group buy on CNI Lasers

Ok List has been updated. I would just need for Blord to confirm he is still in the GB since he is the only one that didn't confirm.
I just got communication from CNI and am waiting on some quesitons I asked to them, specificaly that I wanted lasers waranty on the specs, I don't want to get a 60mw laser since we are getting and paying for 80mw. As for overspec well that is just like a lottery.
Also am asking if they can make the discounted prices to all of us as a single purchase of 6 lasers and $3,335 USD, since we really don't reach the minimum ammount in any of the laser types.
Last I am asking for the lasers to be declared at a total combined price of $70 to avoid paying taxes.

I hope to have an answer later tonight.
