Just out of interest but can you use a USB adapter for the RS232 cable/connector etc???

TL, I'm sure you can... I know I've seen some somewhere online... I'll look and link it here if I do. They're a bit pricey though... :-/

Once I get the meter, if I manage to make it work with USB and get a software for it (far fetch as it would need me to actually 'work' on it... ;D) I'll make it available to everyone ;)

Ok mate I do have a cable that I use on my telescope software which is basically the adapter. Just let me know your finding if it needs extra drivers ;)

Good question...I have a USB adapter and I think it should work.
Daedal, are you going to make customized software just for us.. ;D

DX stuff seems to be very well worth it... and for the price, you can't really complain or get it any better ;)

I suppose this neutralizes the need for me to make the LPM USB compatible then... one less project to think about ;D

I have a few of these cables and adapter kicking about, because of astronomy software but if these don't work then the cardbus will be the next idea to try ;)

Gazoo... I've done RS232 communications before. I could probably slap together a quick and dirt version of it all. Something that accepts data... maybe even plot it... Although, since we can use Hyperterminal and then import into Excel, it's really not much of a benefit.

Also, these RS232 to USB things make it a software based RS232 port, usable in much the same way as a regular RS232 port.

Seriously, I was only pulling your leg...the fact we can import data is the main reason I bought this meter..well and the price.. :) I am very happy with that.

I really wish I'd had the $$$ to spend on this GB, but...

I wanted to check the noraml costs and googled "Andover Holography" and didn't find anything (amsuingly enough this GB showed up in the first 5 google results!) Do you have a URL, Daedle? maybe a price list for non-GBs? .......or will there be anotehr GB in the comming months, perhaps?

Ashton, glad you asked... Tony and I are currently talking about the possibility of another LPM GB within the coming months. Keep on the lookout for the possibility of it happening if/when there is enough interest :)

It'll probably be a month's time from now either way because Tony is gonna be busy making the ones we ordered now... ;) He's even quoting all his new customers for an 8-week wait ;D

Either way... That next GB seems to be at 30% fulfillment so far. If anyone would like in on it, let me know. Nothing will be actually done for that until Tony sends these ones out though... Gives you time to get the $ together ;)
