Chris --
I got my order OK ---- NOW where's my dumdums ;D I was hoping for cherry or orange this time
Seriously -- these diodes come shorted out for ESD and with data sheets -- Thanks Chris ----

;)

can you say a little more about

Cylinder lenses, Have fast, medium and slow lenses, if focusing close to burn/cut get FAST if collimating for long distances get SLOW only $10.00 each.

what is the difference between the Multimode primary collimator lens and this lens on ebay :

and

Missile laser collimator lens

a little mysterious, can you tell us more about this ?

thanks :)

Multimode primary collimator is designed to collimate the beam almost all the way OR focus the beam to a point, where this corrects the astigmatism of the laser diode's beam that has been treated with an aspheric lens allready.

Do you have any 5.6mm diodes, or any 9mm singlemode diodes?

I too am curious about the cylinder lens (and the "missile lens ;) ). Do I actually need 2 different cylinder lenses? How are they mounted?

I found this info:
Cylindrical lenses can be used in a variety of applications areas. In laser diode collimation, the divergent astigmatic beam of a diode laser can easily be collimated by using a pair of cylindrical lenses placed perpendicular to each other. The lens closer to the laser collimates the fast axis, while the second lens collimates the slow axis of the laser diode. Using two distinct lenses in this way also permits complete removal of the astigmatism inherent in laser diodes.

Chris --
Did you get my payment for a 2W 808nm C-Mount?
It came from "olga Razumovicht".
Please confirm :)

Re: RED & 808nm 1-5 WATT LASER DIODES & MORE CHEAP

I got 2 of the red pulsed diodes and a 2W 808 with FAC. I've only tried one of the reds so far. I'm running it CW with an indium HS gasket. I limit the current to 800 mA and it is bright. Chris says its 647 nM but it looks more HeNe 633 nM !!! It puts out a WIDE beam which I'm trying to colimate a bit.
The data sheet Chris provided says to limit it to 1.2 Amps CW -- that's why I'm stopping at 800 mA for optical testing. That beam sure looks like a HeNe in color!!!!

It may be a 635nm, but you'll drool over this one!!!! 622nm 125mW ORANGE LASER PICS!

PM and payment sent.
Thanks

Quote from heruursciences on Apr 9th, 2009, 8:56pm:
Multimode laser collimator, uses 1 aspheric, and 1 neg focal length cylinder lens- focus to square beam and collimate with a 3-5 inch FL aspheric. 1W of 635 through this is impressive to say the least!, also have the TO-3 housings that fit these too.

This will collimate ANY of my laser diodes when combined with a 3-5 inch aspheric lens. You get a bright as heck 1/2 inch beam tat goes for MILES.

So how does this work? I put the Multimode laser collimator in front of the diode and then another aspheric lens with a focal length of 3-5" in front of the collimator?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: RED & 808nm 1-5 WATT LASER DIODES & MORE CHEAP

use the multimode collimator to make a squareish flashlight like dot, then use the lens to correct it the to a laser dot... OR... use the mutimode collimator to make it into a well defined line, and then use a slow cylinder lens to make it into a smaller but more highly divergent dot.  :)

Multiline ARGON LASER SYSTEM, $500 OBO Puts out about 75W on all lines, very nice Tem00 beam!
thats powerful
if it is really 75watts on each line how much is shipping to canada.

i'm hoping that's a typo and it does 75mW - a 75 watt argon would require ungodly amounts of power to run

How did an Argon Ion find its way here??? This is Chris's thread about diodes.

He said it puts out 75mW on all lines, sounds like he is referring to total power of all lines combined.

Mike

It's listed under the "OTHER LASERS & PARTS!" section of the original post by Chris in this thread.

Re: RED & 808nm 1-5 WATT LASER DIODES & MORE CHEAP

It's 75mW tem00 sorry about the confusion. I've actually seen a 60W argon laser and it was 2x SP 171 tubes in series optically, took 440V 3 phase at close to 90A per phase! E-gads!!!!

Kilowatts for miliwatts that's argon lasers for you...
