Take your time Kenom and take care of yourself first and foremost!
Don't sweat minor setbacks. It'll all be worth it someday - lol.

Sure I can wait longer, if I have too. I only paid back in Aug.:cryyy:
It would be nice to get some updates. Ken's last report was on how he has been putting off the anodizing because of cold weather.
Well it's only November we still have a few months of cold weather to go.

What would happen if we all pitched in $5 to $10 dollars for ken. Maybe he can rent some corner in a local garage or something like that??

The anodization process makes heat, anodize a few sheets of aluminum foil, then stir the acid to get the bath to temperature and then anodize the barrels. The process will keep the bath at the right temperature from there, just keep stirring the acid. Heat is the enemy when anodizing, not cold. A bath that is too hot will just pull the anodized layer off faster than it can be made, but a cold bath lets a thicker anodized layer form. (Check Type III anodizing.) You want the bath around 15-20C for normal Type II anodizing.

So then he just needs a place with some good ventilation? A cold ambient temperature is a good thing:)

Pontiac5 did you and ken get the issue with the faulty threads worked out???

I would assume so, however I have not heard from Ken in a while either.

I'm still not sure where the thread issue came from, all of the grooves I have here still fit alright and I haven't touched those threads at all. Maybe it was a fluke or something?

Just talked to Kenom on laserchat, and informed him of the recent activity on the thread. He is having a hard time getting his browser to work well on his phone so I offered to give yall an update for him.

He said he has ordered a tap, and is waiting for it to arrive. He can get the heads into the tail section, its just the threads inside the barrels at the driver section that he cannot fit. He figured out that the heat from polishing them causes distortion and since the threads are so tight they no longer fit after polishing.

Hope this helps everyone get an idea for how things are coming along!

Peace,
Ken via Isaac (lol)

I'm somewhat confused...what is the difference between the grooves you have and the ones Ken has?

They were made by Pontiacg5 and shipped to Kenom unpolished. The only ones polished are the ones that Kenom has because Kenom polished them (as he said he would). Pontiacg5 has a few of the extras that were left over during the machining process that are still unpolished.

Which is why Kenom's have the threading issues....notice my above post. Kenom explained to me that the heat from polishing distorted the threading, which is why he ordered a tap for them to straighten them out. So,
Kenom's Polished barrels=Threading issues from the heat needed
Pontiacq5's Unpolished barrels=no issues/no heat
