Was that last one soldered with a red-hot fire-poker?
Holy Cow!

Hey now! that was my first attempt at printing my own pcb, and then soldering random components to make a driver.. the contacts were way to small and I had a very big tip on my soldering iron.. so yeah, I guess it was a fire poker!

What is that black circular object made out of? That looks like a good solution to keep it centered.

I think its made with one of the aperture caps that were included with the first run of grooves. I didn't have a ball point pen for a spring so I used one from a dead Bic Lighter and some gitd plastic tube to keep it from shorting out, I'll take a pic when I get home if I remember

Yup it's part of the aperture caps I included with the grooves. Another nice bit that I added to make your laser safe.

Does the lens screw into the focus adapter or into the front section of the Groove? Because I was thinking about seeing if(assuming you DO end up with surplus) I could purchase a second one and have one lens/focus assembly for power using the 405-g-1 and one lens/focus assembly for beam profile/dot integrity.

the lens screws into both.. the focus adapter, and the head.

Simply amazing. Not one single payment since the last heads up, but I have had 3 people drop out.

I could probably squeeze in 3 more with focus adapters and custom anodizing if it comes down to it. It will just eat up the money that I was going to use to actually build some into complete lasers. Anyone else?

So 3 more orders would work. Are there 2 other people that could buy another? I could buy 1 more and still have enough to build some lasers. 3 would eat up all my building funds so I would prefer not to do that.
