Unfortunately I've had some bills pop up that need paying and lasers don't come above debt :( I've had to sell a few of my lasers, as well as my argon and at the moment it isn't looking like I'm going to be able to pay.

If no one else wants them I'll have to see what I can gather.

I hadn't checked the thread for a while, until I got a notice PM through, but I wasn't aware that the spreadsheet was a 100% commitment to buying them, as I wasn't sure to begin with if I could get funds, but didn't want to miss out if I did so I put my name down to give an idea of numbers.

nah, nothing about the spreadsheet is an obligation to participate. I sent out the PM to remind folks if they wanted to participate, that they needed to make payment soon. If not, then they needed to remove themselves from the spreadsheet so that I had an accurate representation of the numbers that were sold.. so don't feel obligated.. you can back out if you need.

Here's a video of the groove itself, promote it around the forum. Get some more of these bad boys paid for!

How do you get positive battery connection with the Groove? I see the hole in it for the positive nipple on the 18560 battery. I thought there would be another isolated spring and a contact tab I could solder the positive input on my driver to. Although since there is not, I assume there's a good reason for that, because everything else on the host is so well thought out, and I am just ignorant. :D

Is it too late to add a focus ring to my already paid for Kryton groove?
I was going to make my own, but changed my mind... plus, your focus ring comes pre-anodized.

@ AJ Dual... put a light spring on the back of the driver (+) terminal. Make sure it lines up with the hole and goes through the hole. The Kryton barrel has a shoulder in it to keep the battery captive and from stressing/impacting the driver. So, your spring can be very light duty and still work.

Okay. No wires to twist or fatigue on you when closing it up. I see.

Anyone know a source for such a spring? Might be tricky because since I've got a microboost set at 1000mA, I was hoping to put a heatsink, maybe with some thermal stick-um pad connecting it with a heat-path to the rest of the Kryton body. That might make it trickier.

i just use a spring from one of those DX cheapy clicky switches, then just put some flexible tape around it to isolate it leaving just the tip of the spring bare to make contact with the battery.

you could also make a plastic disc with a little spring on it and a wire going to your driver.

Unbelievabe, I've never seen more lame excuses from you who haven't paid yet. You don't know how a group buy works? Pathetic. To participate in a group buy is akin to entering a contract. If you don't uphold your end of the deal, then you had no business entering it in the first place. I was laid off a couple of months ago and I consider this purchase a luxury at this time, but a deal is a deal. Just my 2 cents. MR

I'm going to see if I can scrape some extra cash up and buy one more. In a year from now these things can double in value, for a mint condition kryton.

I sure hope this all works out for every one. This original GB started way back in 11/08:(

You betcha! I have 100 focus adapters to go with the 100 grooves that are being ordered. Surplus of those is NOT what I want.. :D

I do not include springs for the driver, however you can find a good one inside a typical ball point pen.

some photo examples of how folks have done the drivers in Krytons (ignore the captions)
