Well, I didn't get all that I wanted to finished, but the focus adapters and heads are done. The tailclicky was giving me a hard time for a while, but I've got that figured out now. All I need to do is get back on a machine in my off time and I should have them done fairly fast.

Here are the focus adapters and heads...

Here's a quick video, you can somewhat see whats going on...

I've got a mini lathe on the way to start prototyping the beast and the super duper focus adapter. I'm also looking into CNCing that very same mini lathe so I might be making the beasts in my garage :D

This CNC stuff is going to drive me broke. And I thought lasers were an expensive hobby, ppft!

Thanks!

It was actually only 550RPM for the finish cycles, and 150RPM for the threading.

o that isnt fast lol looked faster in the vid:D
i used to work behind a lathe / mill combo wich did about 2250rpm
wish i could do that kind off work again:(

anyway keep up the good work and good luck on the remaining pieces:)

Yep, these are all pre-beveled, you shouldn't need to do anything extra to them ;)

Payment sent.
Thanks again Ken for making these!
And thanks Pontiacg5 for helping!

The grooves are designed to hold a 2mm rubber insert. Since it's rubber it can flex a little and needs to actually be held inside the groove.
So it's 1.5mm deep and 1.5mm wide

Nice, Tritium vials. definetly want.

Perhaps, if anyone has a supplier, a small group buy for Tritium vials that would fit that groove!

Perhaps, if anyone has a supplier, a small group buy for Tritium vials that would fit that groove!

There are a few sellers who are always available in the B/S/T Marketplace section of Candlepowerforums.

B@rt and Merkava have been selling tritium glow vials for years there.

B@rt's Tritium Thread - CPFMarketPlace

For Sale: Tritium Vials - CPFMarketPlace

The problem with a "group buy" is that "trivial" use for tritium vials is not exactly legal in the U.S. Only watches, gun sights, compasses etc. are allowed. Bare vials, key chains etc. are not permitted. Granted the harm is nonexistent, and it's not enforced, but having someone set up a new group buy when these vendors have already "found their source" wherever it may be from, would be kind of redundant.

I don't suppose you know if the 'purple' vials in the second thread are actually purple or if they are the same as the regular 'blue' that B@rt sells?

I can't say for certain. Merkava has several threads on CPF's marketplace. Taking into account the variations in digi-cams, and monitor calibration, it's hard to say for sure, but I think his purple is a more pinkish-red/purple-purple than B@rt's deep blue is.

I'd sign up and just PM him to be sure.
