Huh? I know that...and I've actually seen real pictures of them...but my question really had nothing to do with batterie per se... Since the beasts do not exist (yet), it is hard to gauge their relative size and dimensions. Thus, by modeling something else in the 3D model (that we all are very aware of it's size, like an 18650) along side the model of the beast, it would be a lot easier to visualize "how big" they'll be, as well as how big the heatsink and head will be relative to the rest of the host...that's all. I'll put together a simple example to show what I mean...standby.

Thanks

Yes. $60 for a Kryton groove clear. In the US shipping is $5

Someting like this...Note: This is not the beast, nor was I trying to copy the beast...I'm only trying to depict size and scale information.

I assume most that get just polished (no color) will also get it clear anodized to help protect the finish. This assumes the anodizing does help protect the polished look. Is this correct?

EDIT: also...

What kind of on/off switch will be on the beast? I assume it is just a simple tail clicky. Is that correct?

Default Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3. Taking payments now.

I'm pretty sure Ken will offer the beast with full color anodizing, he'll have to answer that one.

You can polish aluminum and it looks excellent, but aluminum is very soft. It will scratch and oxidize pretty fast. A clear anodize actually etches the surface a little (sometimes a lot) It will not look too polished after a clear anodize coat, and it will likely have a yellow tint to it as well.

A solution would be a clear powder coat, but that would still dull the polished finish a little. Also powder coating is horrible for heat transfer, that might not be too big a problem on a laser the size of the beast, but would not do to well for the groove. I'm looking into getting a full triple chrome setup, and if everything works out there might be some true chrome hosts available soon.

And yes, the beast uses a tail clicky exactly the same as the one on the groove.

The Beast will be a tailcap clicky as well. The only reason, is because of the massive head there is no room for a button where the driver is and teh batteries actually go up into that head so there's no room in the barrel.

There are also bare aluminum treatment chemicals you can get to protect aluminum. Sharkhide aluminum protectant is one way. It's like clear enamel you can put over aluminum to keep it looking nice and shiny.

As to the clear anodizing. I will not clear anodize it unless you specify you want clear. If you want bare you must specify bare. Every single host will be polished. Trust me you'll want this. Let me show you differences between the 3.

Polished unanodized

unpolished unanodized.

The last picture shows corrosion of an unpolished unanodized barrel.

Wow those renders just made the decision of groove or beast a hell of a lot harder. I know the groove will be awesom and is known as one of the best hosts and a personal favourite... But owning something as massive as the beast would epic, I mean 28cm is huge! I'm gonna have a rethink and then get payment sent over when I decide.

Cheers Kenom for getting all this sorted and pont for the render work
