Well, there it is then. You'll be a very busy person building more EZ focus adapters then. I'll recommend that you start a thread for the Kryton EZ focus Adapters so you can get an idea of how many people want them.

I was thinking a good place for folks to put in pre-orders or express a desire to get them without committing until the grooves are actually being produced. It however is your choice since it's your product. :D

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

I do want to clarify one thing.

I provide hosts. I do not provide lasers. For the most part (and jayrob personally will agree) I want to stay as far away from assembling fully functional lasers because I don't want to have to deal with the FDA in any way shape or form. I have made the Kryton almost the easiest setup a person can do if you have the required skills to build a laser. If you cannot build a Kryton, you really need to seriously think about if you've chosen the right hobby.

PLease do not take offense. I just want folks to know that I'm not willing to assemble your kryton for you. There are other folks out there that are more than willing to put the Kryton together for you fairly reasonable.

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

I've decided that I definitely want one of these for my laser.
So put me down for 1 kryton groove with a purple to green fade.
2 questions though, # 1 is the driver included? I ask this because there was something earlier that mentioned the possibility of not having that as a standard feature due to cost to produce. #2 are these lenses glass or plastic ?

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

Unless someone comes up with a driver, or someone shows me a place to get a relatively small amount of drivers for cheap, there will be no drivers.

Money will start being collected at the end of the month. When the order goes to the machine shop.

My favorite is all of em. I've not seen a Kryton I didn't love! LOL

LOL

DrLava's drivers seem the easiest choice at this moment, he has something to fit nearly all the builds we need currently. If anyone needs greater than 1.5A then a linear/AMC7135-based driver would hopefully be enough - anyone working beyond the capability of a lava driver should know enough about electronics to do it themselves. If demand were high enough (I doubt it would be) then a high-current buck driver could be made inexpensively in a GB.

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

It's well worth paying $10-$20 extra dollars in order to have a driver, especially if said driver can be made to put out a stable 1.5 amps of juice. (it should be obvious by now that I don't want to build my own driver) note safety features --> :umbrella: :tinfoil:

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

wouldn't be that hard to put together a nice amc7135 driver with some caps and reverse polarity protection. It would have to be heatsinked tho. I'm sure that everyone agrees that a driver capable of in excess of 1.5A is desirable.
