I hear you Dave and I understand your sentiment...
But someone needs to get a hold of Ken so that he
can at least chime in with some news for his customers...

There is always a way to send a message if one decides
to do so...

He!!... he can even call me collect and I'll be happy to pass
on his message...

Jerry

You do not understand the level to which he has lost control of his life

Peace,
dave

Is he in the can?

"in the can" = idiom for "on the toilet", or is there something I'm missing/differences in slang?

Still waiting on a couple of hundred dollars worth of parts, no contact with Kenom. Has anyone tried to contact him to get news, or had contact with him outside of LPF? I take it that his situation is pretty bad.

In the can can also mean "in jail/prison."

I have an old phone number of Ken's but I haven't tried calling it. If times are as tough as he says they are I wouldn't be surprised to find that it was disconnected. If any vet wants to try to call him PM me.

I have tried to remain out of this. However, I see frustration and possibly anger taking hold.

First off, let me be clear -- I am NOT defending Ken's action (or lack of action).

What is happening is WRONG.

That being said -- Ken's life is truly out of his control right now.
What we THINK that WE would do in his circumstances is not valid

Yelling at him, deriding him, insulting him, asking him, etc. will NOT make any difference. As we have seen, when he gets enough control to be able to produce, he does some.

It is VERY wrong that some of us are out cash. Yes, I am also out for the cost of a couple of "Beasts."

However, the only thing that we can do right now is hope he gets better control of his life again. If he does, we may see more sent out. If he doesn't, we probably won't see him again anyway

My recommendation is that we calm down, keep this thread open, and just keep track of what is owed.

Peace,
dave

I'm with you, but I'm very upset, even if it doesn't do any good.

You can't force someone and anger doesn't improve the situation. Venting may make you feel better but isn't going to help.

Arrgh. OK, I feel better, back to waitng!

I'm waiting on the completion of a project between Kenom and Andrew Kibler but since things aren't working out right now, I agree all we can do is wait. Once Kenom and Andrew get their life back in order, I prefer a refund.

Just got my Kryton back from Flaminpyro & I figured this would be the most appropriate place to post it.
I want to show off his skillz & provide a "look see" to anyone who's doing one themselves.
It's almost finished. Output is ~1.5W.
Final step will be a mirror polish applied by Lazeerer.
Thanks for all your hard work Jeff

Right after getting the finned copper heat sinks in place with the Arctic Silver starting to set up.

You can see one looks to be at an angle, that is to get it as close as possible to the chip that needs heat sinking.

As you can see there is no reason to glob a ton of adhesive in there, and now you get max cooling and can still adjust
the current if you want to and there is still room to solder all the leads

What sinks are those? I need to sink my Boostdriver, as I'm running it maxed, solder bridged by Dr. Lava at 1000ma, and the pot cranked, and it's blinking with thermal cutout.

Also, do they come any longer, just a few mm? I'd like them to extend down to the Kryton's head, and give me a thermal path into the rest of the body.

Pure Copper PC Memory Heat Spreader (8-Pieces) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

They are 22mm long

I cut them in half for flexdrive sized drivers

Remember, you have to screw the head into the barrel

Peace,

Thanks for the link to the heatsinks daguin. If I ever get my kryton I will definitely be using some of those on my driver. If I lose all hope I might sell off the rights to my 2 krytons if anyone is interested.

Kenom has been MIA since the end of Nov...
No one has heard a word on his whereabouts
or his situation...

He posted on facebook about a week ago that he's working on W2's and is excited to have money to "do things" again...

Might be worth trying to get in touch with him...
