hi guys,gals, and anyone else...anyway i wanted to know if there is any interest in 8x dvd burner sony diodes they would be $11.50 shipped and 100 half to be sold in order to do this if theres any interes rated at 80mw cw 130ma input and 140mw pulsed i know week but since senkat is retiring

have you actually tried buying from this person yet? im assuming its a person from ebay named gearb or something from zetbiz. they are in south korea. if its the same person im already trying to buy a lot of 5 from them. i went with the el-cheapo shipping though so im still waiting. its been 1 week since i sent my money order and when i checked yesterday it hadnt been cashed yet. senkat was saying something about having troubles with someone from korea so give this a week or 2 to see what happens to me if its the same person.

sounds like a good idea if you could get this going i bet alot of people would buy. i think that there are nearly no 16x dvd burner diodes left so all so all of that business would come to these diodes.

not a bad deal.
or you can get 3 16x diodes 180mw pulsed 90 cw for $60 +s/h
or 3 ir 200mw for $44 + s/h
depends on peoples needs. burning stuff is only so useful i guess.
least other amount you can buy is 100, which would save around $200 on the 140mw. hopefully in another week ill get mine. ill phone the post office again tomorrow.

Where do we get these diodes? :-?
gonna have to find out who greg went through. otherwise the cheapest alternative seems to be zet-biz on ebay. only problem is that they are based in south korea. i am currently awaiting a very small cheap shipment to see if this person is any good. a link to their ebay store is posted in the deals and discount section by me under bulk red and ir diodes.
well it may not be needed at all anymore. senkat has updated his thread for retiring and may go full blown into the business. lets hope he does cause it will not only be cheaper, but also it will be much faster. i sent my money order to korea last wednesday and today it still has not been cashed. over a week and still no idea what is going on with my order.

LOL !! ANYONE can run a group buy - the thing to remember is that you HAVE to factor in shipping costs, to include the packaging that you will send it in, as well as tha actual postage. not to mention that gas is NOT cheap - so all the runs to teh post office wil eat into your budget, unless you do online shipping (coming soon for me ! LOL !! ) etc....so there are a TON of extra expenses involved with running a GB that can come up and bite you in the butt when you are first starting - plan for hte worst case scenario, and hope for better luck than that
