I just got confirmation from my supplier that the GGW and GBW is inFACT 2 different sled. But the Bad NEWS is that they are out of the GGW sled and dont know when they will have any in stock.

But i'll try to find them, And the price for them would be $5 more than the GBW, so not all that exspensive.

Good! :)

I got the same info yesterday.. However they told me they always knew it's not the same thing.. I wonder if that was true, or if they simply gave in from the pressure.. ;)

When you find them, you can just send me a PP invoice... :-*

OK Igor, you convinced me :) I'm gonna get one of these diodes. I'll pay at some point.

If you're worried about it being exposed, ask Tommy to mount it for you in an AixiZ module...

The only thing you need to be slightly careful about is that you don't touch the exposed part with anything. Also, when putting a spring into the AixiZ head, that the spring doesn't touch it, altho this is very unlikelly to happen due to the shape of the pedestal.

After that, leave the lens in, and the diode is safe..

BTW, if you're gonna use that AR coated acrylic, i would recommend removing the retaining ring. It's easy to remove, as it is not glued in place, and it eliminates a strange ring like reflection, present otherwise..

After you remove that ring, the spring is the only thing keeping the lens in place, but it usually stays put, so it's nothing critical.

Im Also getting 2 new sleds thats not from anything thats been sold on here. so we can see what diode its from and test it to see how far it would run safely and the peak output of it before it goes into cardiac arrest.

More to be posted, I'll post up pictures when i get them so everyone can see.

I'm going to use my glass lens that I ordered from Drlava with my flexdrive, actually. Hopefully I won't kill the open can diode in the process ::)

Hi, I'm interested in the
GBW-H10N sled,
but need more information.
are these the '4x' sleds from AMK's GB? How are they different from the GBW-H20 sleds?

Can you post a good photo (not from a cell phone) of the front and back of this sled?

Is there any information on compatibility with the GGW-H20L drives if the sleds are used in 4x mode or read-only mode?

thanks.

Those glass lenses are ok, cos they reduce the reflections, but they don't increase the power, due to being triple element lenses, with losses in each of the three lenses inside.

The bottom threaded one causes the laser to have the same power as a clear acrylic, the all-threaded one brings it slightly higher, but the AR acrylics is the best cheap lens for reds.. Only single element glass is better.

Maybe too many letters have confused me then  :-[

Do they still have the GBW sleds in stock?  Have you ordered the GBW sleds?

Peace,
dave

Reading back through with time in mind, I see that he posted the note on Tuesday about ordering by Tuesday. I guess he actually meant the 25th, eh? Sometimes being polychronic is a pain in the butt.

I guess the Grooves will get here before the diodes ;)

Well i posted on my 1st post i will order when it reaches 40-50 Sled and if it doesnt than i will be ordering the GBW order on tuesday. But please read my 1st thread for update i just posted.

Daguin your being mistaken what im saying between the GBW and GGW sled.

DrLava the GBW is the same sled as the one AMK was selling as the GGW which turned out to be the GBW.
