Not even close.  At $0.25 pr/hr that's only 47 hours.  Plus, I don't see any allowance for packaging materials.  You know; tape, boxes, padded envelopes, labels, anti-static bags, etc.

Wes, how many hours do you estimate you have already spent organizing this, setting up the page, and dealing with the supplier?  You haven't even begun to do the labor part.

You have yet  to unpack the sleds, check them all out, harvest those that need it, package all of them up, print labels, and then mail them.  You're not really even done then.  You still have to deal with the unavoidable problems with shipment and delivery.  Finally:  disgruntled customers -- enough said

Peace,
dave

Hey, don't get the man down before he even orders the diodes. I think I can speak for everyone in the GB when I say we're very appreciative of what Wes is doing. I will say, though, that the spreadsheet is inaccurate - I don't see differences for the price adjustment, and you're missing at least two names on the list (Digital_Blue and me).

Ok this might be a stupid question but I am still a newbie.
Why do you choose to get the whole sled when you can get just the diode in the heatsink for the same price? Is there a good reason for this?

I never said you shouldn't appreciate his efforts.  It is just much better to be warned and "ready" in this situation.  Wes is still a young man.  If he gets surprised by significant additional costs and/or time commitment, it could affect the outcome of this GB.  We don't need another "Blue."   Remember, Blue started out just an enthusiastic young man getting in over his head with the time and labor commitment too.

As others have pointed out, the spreadsheet is already inaccurate BEFORE the order has been placed.  His spread sheet also doesn't factor in his PayPal fees or Western Union fees in addition to the other costs I have pointed out.  Transferring money isn't done for free.  From what I can see so far, he is going to be losing money on this GB.  If so, it certainly won't be the first time somebody has lost money running a GB.  Can he afford it or will the buyers be willing to bail him out if/when he discovers he is loosing money he doesn't have?   He hasn't even really gotten to the most confusing and labor intensive parts of this GB yet.  I think that both he and the buyers in this GB deserve the warnings in time to deal with them BEFORE they become an issue.

Peace,
dave

and not to mention, Wes, did you account for the possibility that you might screw up on one or two extractions? To compensate this, people usually order more sleds than they sell and keep the excess themselves.

Also, if it saves you a little (lot) time, you can send my 20 diodes without desoldering. Just take it out of the heat sink and send them with the ribbon still attached.

You are a brave man, Gunga Dihn  :-?

Re:  PHR-803T 9$ SLED *** PAYMENT PAGE IS UP

To minimize screw-ups, a soldering iron should probably stay away from the diodes before Wes ships them out. Even if he successfully extracts all of them (and properly desolders them), a buyer who does not handle a soldering iron well could blame Wes for their own screw-up.

Personally, I don't care too much about whether the diodes are in sleds, are in heatsinks, or are by themselves. I selected the option I thought would cost the least to be shipped.

Re:  PHR-803T 9$ SLED *** PAYMENT PAGE IS UP

Ok right now i am fixing the spread sheet. i was in a rush to get it out b4 i went to church. I don't Want anybody getting mad at me for screwing there diode over, so No more Extracting, i will only pull the diode from the Sled with the heat sink attached. Nothing further shall be done. I have 2 paypals. i made a new one just for the GB to keep payments in order. my paypal i have a bank account backup, and around 150$ on it so if i do screw up, I will Refund your purchase Asap.
Yes, one thing i forgot to factor was paypal fees. i already lost 50$ of my own money to paypal fees. It sucks, but its life and i got over it. I will be only shipping Full sleds, or Diode/Heat sink option. If you have Told me To Extract it, i will give you the option of switching, or a refund. I have spent lots of time getting this going. i have everything i need Except Bubble mailers, which i will have this week.
Thanks and please continue with the good Questions/Suggestions.
Cheers ~

If this GB goes through without a hitch (unlike the BF one), I wouldn't mine "donating some" to help you recoup your losses...
