Re: PBS Cubes (650 and 473) + AR Dichros + Mounts

DrLava,

Just to verify you want just the 2 Axis Kit, correct?

The 2 Axis kit comes with one of each dichro.

Also, I think he can get the PBS positioner made, I am trying to get a similar mount (much smaller though) for mirror mounts. I'll get in touch with him soon, I've been really busy re-vamping my projector that I haven't had as much free time on my hands. But I will likely talk to him tonight.

Thanks,
Max

That is correct, however I'm sorry I'm waffling. Could you convince him to include a bottom plate and attachment screw for the mounts that converts them to be mounted with a screw from the top?

I can draw a diagram if you wish. It would be a plate with two holes, one hole having a recess for the screw head of the screw that goes up into the mount.

hmmm... I'll try, I don't know how much extra he would charge.

Also regards to the other posts about the transmission specs of the dichrohics, I have the test results from bridge now, I just need to transfer the spreadsheet format into an image file... I'll post the data later tonight (probably closer to 5:30 or after 9pm).

Sorry I don't have the time tonight. Gotta run, I'll post it tomorrow.

Hm, neither of those plots appears to be for combining red and green?

The first plot is for combining red and green
reflect green pass red. not always we used reflect red pass green.
don't worry, they will did work better than you wish.
here is some review about our dichroic mirror:

Re: PBS Cubes (650 and 473) + AR Dichros + Mounts

From the link that Bridge posted (for those of you who do not want to join another forum)
I have some of Bridges dichros which I am testing - and they blow edmunds out of the water!

I will be doing a full review when I take some proper measurements but these are so good I am considering rebuilding the optical platform in my RGB to allow me to use these. They are very good without much loss but best of all they have little angular sensitivity. EO dichros vary in performance as the angle changes particularly the blue reflecting dichro whic is at its best at 90 degrees to the beam! The laserwave dichros really do not care on the angle and give a good performance throughout.

Like I said I will review fully and post here - and will have them available for inspection at the UK meet.

Rob

Here is the main post on that thread. Just an FYI these Dichros ARE Anti-Reflection coated. :)

Bridge was kind enough to send me a couple of his dichro's to check out. I like them as they have very little loss....He said next time they will be A/R coated and the one's I have are not. Still they do a fine job. The only other thing is that they are 15mm........about .088" too big for a KS-05 mount. If we could find a decent source on a metric mount I feel these will be as good as EO units at a better price. I have this one.....pass red/reflect green-blue. I have measured a total of 2.8mw loss and a reflection of <1 mw with 75mw of 473nm. I like them and will ask to get them for the next projector. I hope that Bridge may be able to provide a mount for them as well in the future.

I have not written up a good report on the BSP....they are the nicest I have tested at less than 2% loss form the wavelengths and power levels chosen for the tests. I will disclose this after more tests are performed.

More to come as I get time to explore these........

I see. the 520nm label is referring to the mark to the left of it, not to the center of the x axis. looks good!

Re: PBS Cubes (650 and 473) + AR Dichros + Mounts

Ok, I haven't been on these forums for a bit now, life has been pretty busy for me lately.

Anyway, I have talked to Bridge about goggles for this group buy as well.

I have a few pairs of the goggles he sells and they are great quality! These are by far the most comfortable style goggles I have used. Single wavelength goggles are $25each and multiple wavelength (white light) goggles are $50each.

The single wavelength goggles are at an OD=3. While the OD for the white light goggles are not exactly the same across the entire spectrum. Bridge said that the blue has the least OD of about 2.

I will receive more information regarding these goggles tonight. I will post the information as it becomes available.

-Max

Shipping info as mentioned earlier still applies to this portion of the group buy.

Sorry about the poor quality of that last image. Something weird happened when i opened it in photoshop :-?

And here's an image of the 635/650nm goggles and the case these goggles come with:

Not commiting, but I might be in for some, if I did get some when would they ship?

Re: PBS Cubes(650/473) + AR Dichros + Mounts + Gog

They would ship within a few days of the time I get them.

SO really it depends on how many people buy in and when they do. I figure about a week or so for shipping (through customs and all) then about 3-5 days for packaging them all up and distributing them.

If you are currently 'pending' decision let me know I can put you down as being not committed.

-Max

BTW I did the math on it all and we're about 20% done with the group buy at this point.
