Blord does the bottom of the sink end where the finns are in the host... If so how tight are the tolerance and if all that is a yes could one use a small amount of thermal grease to finish making contact?

The bottom of the sink reaches all the way down to the brass pill. This pill is screwed inside the host. The whole host is basically a large heatsink with so much fins.
The top rim also rest on the host. In between there is no connection. I believe the thermal connection is very good due the sheer side of the sink and the connections. Large sinks have a a lot surface area to radiate the heat.

OK, so I got the length and the lesson:na:... how much of a gap would between the bottom of the sink OD to the ID of the host? :thanks:

I don't have this host anymore. I believe the inner wall of the host are threaded. You can't get a good connection with that. It rests on the brass pill which is screwed to the inner threads.

If I rememebr there is also enough space in the pill to mount two drivers, which is a good thing IMO

IIRC last time I ordered from Ric it took like 3 weeks to get my order. If this group buy goes a while man it can go on for months... You know these are going to sell, I am hoping we can some how speed this up or split the order.

I vote to get this moving along ASAP. How's the 12th for a goal of money received 14th drop out first order. That way Eud can get that lathe fired up and get the final count for all lens rings and sinks. I also vote to get ryans sink paid for all the effort.

Just posting that besides the hosts in the OP, I would only be looking for one sink and ring myself, just for the record. In the event that those who have funds in the pot by the 12th vote for ryans sink to be taken care of count that in my total... Who knows if we have 20 or so by then its what 1.00 a piece?

ryan you need to total this up for us if this is going to get going quickly. If I'm pushing this to fast its only because with these GB it seems that time is always the enemy.

I'll close this next Friday the 14th so that Gillza can get his hosts too.

I think we might even break the 20+ price deal too. Ric will then open up a separate group buy section in his website and then we can order individually. Hope there are no delays!

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not going to get this host myself. Instead, I plan to get the Big Head host in the other group buy. I plan to use it as a light, not a laser. If someone could chip in I would be more than thankful.

For quicker delivery times, there are other options like DHL or EMS too, so if time is a priority, make sure to take advantage of those!


I'll get the heatsink + focus adapter list organized on the first post. If you guys want a machine job from Eud, just post below again! For now, I'll try to put what you guys have posted until now.

The pill comes with host.
