Hey Glenn, new questions for you on these group buys: modules!

Most interested in: PGL-VI-532, 150mW

Also interested in: PGL-H-532, 150mW and 200mW

Also interested in: S-GDL-532, 150mW

Also interested in: PRL-VI-D, 640nm, 120mW

I couldn't find anywhere in this or previous threads that modules were priced. Thanks.

Thanks PBD, I had prices on some of those a while back, but I should ask again... I'll get the prices and post them ASAP. All My Best! -Glenn

Sorry, but some either pulled out or need more time, so the 28th is not likely the order date, and we are soon to order the 447 nm and other lasers, (green and red etc.), but not enough 589nm lasers are requested to get close to 10 yet, so sorry... We need to get more folks aware I suppose... -Glenn

I just found this forum so please bare with me. How does the PGL III -C- 447nm violet blue portable laser compare with the DL Spartan Series 1W Blue? Is the PGL III 447nm more powerful? I'm looking for the most powerful burning laser. I'm a newb

Well, both lasers are actually made by CNI. The difference is the series, in that the PGL-III-C is... Well, a C series laser, and the Spartan is actually a PGL-III-M laser, which is just a different host. The output powers will be the same, but the different host brings different heatsinking and batteries with it too. EDIT: Same batteries actually.

So to sum up, the Spartan and PGL-III-C have different looks, the C has somewhat better heatsinking (although the Spartan seems to be quite good).

^^^Thanks you answered my question perfectly. Now if I can get a job I'll join the PGL-III-C GB.

Many PGL III lasers, (green, red, yellow and blue) use the 18650 battry, but all of the 447nm lasers from CNI I know of use the 2X CR123 3.0V batteries. -Glenn

Dang it, you're right again... I had gotten it in my head that all the PGL-III-C hosts used 18650 batteries, but I guess not. So different host, different heatsinking, but same batteries.

Im in for the 589nm, anyone keeping track of the count on these?

-Greg

Yea what's the official count? IIRC I'm at least the 4th or 5th interest... do you think we could still get a similarly low price for, say, 5-7ish people? Thanks Glenn!

Do we have a solid estimate of the output of the GLP-589? I know it's rated at 1mW, though in jedirock's post, it's mentioned that it will likely be significantly overspec. I'd like to have a better idea of just what these will be doing.

I'm tempted to get one of these as well, assuming we can get enough people to even order them.

There's no official count, but my estimate puts it at around 5 or 6 including you and I. We need to get an official count going and ask Glenn to edit it into the OP for everyone to see. I'm positive that we'll get there, and if not then I'm sure CNI will still give us a decent price for 6-9 people.
