can someone help me out with this?

I'm new to the laser world and not completely familiar with CNI's lineup... I'm interested in a 10mw 589nm, as far as I can tell these are the 2 being offered in this buy:

PGL=III-M-589nm 10mW $540
PGL-III-C-589nm-10mW/Unit $615

Is that correct? Can someone tell me (or link me) the difference between these two models? Thanks so much...

There is more than just cosmetic difference... the "M" uses only a special rechargable... the "C" version also takes standard C batteries. That can make a huge difference.

Still both fairly expensive! I wonder how long until yellow/amber lasers come down significantly in price...

Well yeah...but the current draw for a 589nm would rip through alkaline C cells rather fast.

Actually that's a good point... it seems I'd be better off with a "desktop" 589nm that can be plugged in.

Does CNI have one of those?

Yep. CNI can do almost any wavelength I think... if money is no object :D Aryntha's 561nm PGL is proof of that. But I'm not sure about in this GB. You'd have to PM Glenn (scopeguy20) and ask what pricing on 589 labbys would be.

I know, me too...lets hope that we can get this order in by next weekend or so! Think that could be at all possible?

I sure as hell hope so! It's been a very long while since I had a good quality, high powered handheld greenie. Hopefully this round'll be up-to-spec/overspec :)
