I hope it's not out of place to post in this thread but for anyone interested in tungsten in a known size primarily for demonstration of it high density I recommend looking at: https: forward slash forward slash www dot mi-techmetals dot com/cart/
I have no affiliation but bought a couple chunks from them about a year ago. It is not 100% tungsten but is 90%+ with a density of 17g/cc.
I know from experience that the following two part numbers have have the masses listed below
F17B1C0808 - 100g - $12.70
F17B1C1015 - 325g - $26.46
The latter is good for hefting and comparing density as it is about the size of a half roll of quarters but has mass not far from that approaching that of the a common 12 oz aluminum can of liquid.

I'm still enjoying the Gallium from the previous buy.
Please write me down for:
- 1 pound of Tin.
- 1 pound of Bismuth.
- 25 grams of Indium.
Here's a couple of photos I made of Tungsten and Gallium:
Left - 40 Gallium melted and then poured into a glass containing crushed ice. The result is these very nice and shiny pieces.
Right - Big Tungsten rod - 4cm height and diameter - over 1KG (!!), small Tungsten rods 1/2" height, 1/4" diameter, each 7.7 grams, and the Gallium melted into a small dome.
I recommend everyone to buy the Tungsten in large amount, then its density gets really impressing.

If that's true I may be interested.
What what be extra nice is to have similar size and shape ingots from Magnesium, to match the Tungsten.
Magnesium is extremely light, 1/11 density of Tungsten, and is fairly strong, and should be much cheaper than Tungsten.
It would need to be coated though with varnish to keep it from oxidizing and scratches.
