Ken i have a question.
Since the Groove Driver didnt come with any instructions, and i looked up the last post you showed me on how to add the springs to the  board, to see which end is the Power input and which is the output to the diode.
My question is, With the spring  touching the Possitive of the battery, how do you connect the Neg to the barrel?? to you just wire it so its just touching the barrel? or is there aomthing else?
Tommy

Just solder the negative pin and the case pin on the diode together.  Bend the case pin over so that it touches the negative pin and solder your negative contact on the driver to both.  You could also just allow the solder on the negative pin to flow down onto the diode, but I try to keep the diode as cool as possible.  The negative comes through the barrel that way.

Peace,
dave
Yeah what he said. It really is the best option to short the diode case to neg as it completes the circuit through the case. There are assembly instructions and I've posted them in this thread SOMEWHERE!! lol I'll post the link to the assembly instructions for the driver again.

So, because the diode ha only to pins left. your saying solder the neg to the neg bit of the driver where the diode neg pin is suppose to touch, and make the solder touch the neg part of the pcb board to the yellow bit on the diode case?

Ken your link doesnt open for some reason.

Thanks for the info

Ok the link probably doesn't work because you dont' have adobe acrobat installed.

As far as the diode is concerned I've taken a picture of how I do mine.  You'll see I end up bending the case pin which has no black ring at the base over to physically make contact with the negative pin.  Then when I solder the pins to the driver I also solder the case pin to the negative.
This makes it so that the connection to the negative also makes connection to the casing of the diode itself and can ground out on the barrel which is negative connection.

It opened for me. If it doesn't for you maybe try right clicking on the link and selecting open.

ok that previous post from bluray answered one of my questions... it's a Groove Driver?

How are you guys connecting the + lead to the driver circuit?   I just received mine and am a little behind the times on putting these together...

I'm thinking of finding a throwaway toy or device with a spring in it and trying to find a way to jam it in the top somewhere...

Okay, that helps, but how about in the case where i've cut my case pin off. cause i was told you dont need them.
Do i then just solder the Neg pin anywhere onto the barrel to ground it? or should i find a smaller spring and solder it onto the Neg end of the driver where the NEG input to the battery goes so it touches the barrel like some of the green laser pen drivers??

What I usually do with the spring is find a old pen that I don't need and pull the spring from it.  sand down the coating around it and solder it directly to the positive connection on the driver.
That or head to your local ace hardware and buy a spring there.  they are usually $.45.  You'll of course want to stretch out the spring a bit to make it go from the driver to the positive connection on your battery.  Here is an example someone else did.  it's a flexdrive but you still get the idea.
*note the additional spring off to the side is NOT Necessary.*

From there I'd say just make a large blob of solder from the negative pin to the diode casing then.  That will essentially do the same thing.

Thanks for the tip. I don't know why I didn't think of the pen spring. I went and bought an $8 mag-lite to LED clicky conversion kit... It looked like the clicky would fit in the head of the barrel with just enough room to spare for a wire coming back up... probably would have been a mess.
Getting the diode into the head, i'm not too worried about.. I found the cable stop you told me about... it's getting it OUT of the Aixiz hosts. I have yet to remove one without SEVERELY damaging the diode. I've used dowels and chopsticks, attempted needles to get into those tiny tiny little holes... no luck.

Use an antenna. LOL you'll find a section of antenna that is the correct size that will fit around the can and viola!

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

More good news folks. I got in another shipment of barrels today. So, I'll be shipping out some more orders as I organize them into what's owed to whom. I'll also take some pictures a little later of what I've got.

I've also got one or two barrels that are ooops's and will be putting those up for sale here very soon as well.

There's no way that I'd get anywhere near what it's worth. Doggone thing cost me $900 and it looks like crap. I have it setup as a 300mw red and is kind of a "this is where I came from" kinda thing.
