no word yet from the anodizer. This extra day of vacation has messed up everything. They only got the order finalized (they had questions on exactly what to anodize) on thursday of last week. Not to worry, it's progressing fine.

Ya hafta post pictures of what you build out of it being the first one.... Err, I seem to recall that I might have let that one slip outta my hands without tapping the threads for the lens.  Please verify that the lens screws in EASILY. if it's difficult at all, it's not tapped and you may have to send it back... *prays*

kenom,
just reminding you to include the extra parts from the v1 barrel i fried, and that you were gonna assemble/solder the driver for me so i dont catch the barrel on fire again.. If u could assemble both, you would be my hero for life and i'd sacrifice my first born to you..

Did you get my new address Kenom?  Can't wait!

Uhh pm me for a reminder and I'll make sure I've got it.

YEA!!!  I would like to report that tomorrow I'll be taking some pictures of a few of the custom anodized barrels.  This was a rush order and this apparently just didn't work out rushed enough or lack of communication.  Needless to say tomorrow I will have these in my hands and you'll all get to see what they look like.

Yes not to worry I've got it noted on my spreadsheet. Extra parts assemble driver. now I'm not going to do all the work for you. I won't set the current or anything just assemble them for you. I just don't have the time to do so..

Indeed. this was just a rush order. The customer wanted it fast and paid the premium for it.

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

I apologize for the huge size of these pictures.  I also apologize for the crappy quality of pictures.  Apparently my son (3) decided he wanted my old school sony 128mb memory stick more than I did.  It's now gone and I can no longer take good quality pictures until I find a replacement which will be probably never.  Sony memory stick was replaced by memory stick pro and then duo.  I had the first in the line.  The only place to find them is on ebay (no local stores carry them since they are so out of date) and I've no desire to pay more than $2 shipped for such a small amount of memory when it would be just as easy to get a new camera.  *I will take a donated card*  Needless to say unless someone buys my 1 watt 808nm focusable burner laser, I'll be saving to get a new camera.

There are a TON of pictures here and i apologize (3rd time in this post)

You'll notice a small blemish on this one.  I was told it was probably an air pocket during dying

PIC_0034.jpg

This shot is to emphasize the lack of anodizing in the tailcap.  will explain in a few lines.

PIC_0035.jpg

In order to anodize an electrical connection has to be made to the part being anodized (anode). since the insides of these weren't being anodized, a plug was inserted into the holes with them assembled. now there's no place to connect to the barrels for the anode so it was chosen taht the tailcap would be the best place for this to occur. so there's no anodizing where that connection is made.

No need to buy a new camera.. the Sony cameras are great.
That's what I use.
I think I have a spare Memory Stick for your needs...
I''ll check tomorrow and let you know by PM.
