Kenom, is the ring can be maade to accomodate T09 diode? Or it will only made for T05?
I presume this barrel should be able to host T09 by replacing the ring?
I guess Lava2 driver should be able to drive 1W diode, so I will be glad if you can made the ring to accomodate T09...
:'(
i hope people don't end up going with the lavadrive for all of these! ah well i'm sure the cheapness factor will kick in. at least i sure hope it does.
is there a way to mod the blue driver so that the - is supplied to the LD through the case? my - pin fell off my LD, and I need some way to supply - to the LD through the case.
just solder a wire from the - output to the side of the casing or module. it'll work. I've broken off the negative lots of times and just soldered to the case and it's fine.
Just a note, that photo is of a prototype lavadrive2, the boards that come with the GB will be machine built and assembled once there is good demand.
Once they are built, they will be available as drop-in drivers also. The final driver is designed to also fit into flashlights and even just barely squeeze into a leadlight casing.

Sorry if I repeat the question, I don't see the answer posted. Also, sorry if it is dumb question that not meant to be answered...
The diode mount is made only for a 5.6mm diode, and the driver can only go to 7 or 800 mA, so the answer is likely no on both counts. There may be a future barrel with a C-mount capability and a higher current driver, for higher power lasers.
Bernhard, I'm sorry if I did not address your question. There is no "ring" persay. What your thinking of is like a green laser "newwish style" that has a ring that presses onto the back of the diode and holds it in place or a meridith instruments style that takes a 9mm laser diode. This is a hole like in an aixiz module that you press the diode into. Rather tightly I might add. I do however intend to run different barrels that will incorporate the 9mm and c-mount laser diodes.
Now this is not to say that if you had a lathe and some machining skills you wouldn't be able to easily enlarge the hole 2.4mm bigger to accomodate a 9mm diode. Although that is on you at this time and not me. You can hang out and wait like everyone else until I get the barrel designed for those diode. Sorry to dissapoint.
this is open until april 24th. However given the slow response on this gb as of yet, if I do not have enough orders by then, I will extend it. We'll see as we get closer to that date.
