Oh, in other words, what does the inside of the barrel look like? Is it just one empty barrel? Or is it devided into compartments? That sort of thing...

I got'cha. The battery tube is seperated into two different compartments. the main section is for the battery, then there is a stop at the top of that and a small chamber for the driver itself.

For those that are interested so far, there are a total of 55 barrel orders thus far. I am working on consolidating everythign into a list so I can show who has paid what. However my mother has come to town to visit my children and me and I will be pretty much away for the entire weekend. I'll get it when I get back.

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run.

OK were having a minor issue that we are going to have to deal with here in short order. If you placed an order for a barrel that comes with either a Kit, or a lava driver. Not 2. I'm giving a reduced cost and swallowing the cost for the lava driver out of my pocket for the one. However if you buy more than one driver that's costing me twice that amount. so I'm going to have to go over the orders and refund for those that are for more than one barrel. I apologize. I know that these drivers are popular but there is a limited supply of them and it's just not fair to those that bought them directly from lava for $20

So this is the way it works out. You order 1 barrel you get 1 driver be it a kit or a flex drive. I will refund any orders over that unless you specify that it is for a previous order that did not have a driver option. This is fair warning.

The GB over at cpf seems to be dead so I registered here to keep up to date on progress.

I'm not quite getting you. Where is the reduced price coming from? So we get a free lava driver? Or what? :/ As long as people are paying for what they get, it shouldn't cost you anything right?

Wrong.  I'm paying almost $20 per driver from lava.  I pass on the drivers to you the customer as a "upgrade" from the $6 kit form that is available for free.  since there is a $14 difference between my driver and a flex drive, I just subtract the cost of components for the kit from the flex drive and pass it on to you the customer.  Now if your getting 2 drivers from me for every one barrel, that's now $12 that I eat to pass on a savings to you.

Lazercrazy. Glad to see you here. I do update this place more freuquently but I still do keep folks up to date on cpf as well.

I wondered about why you were cheaper on the upgraded driver. That's nice of you. Kudos!

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run.

me confused a little 2

If I bought, say, ten barrels and ten Lavadrives... would I be paying $20 for the last 9 drives? I thought $12 was one heck of a bargain, but that's what was offered so I went for it.

Do I now owe you more money for the things you owe me?
? :p ;D ::) :D ?

No. You do not as the increase of laser barrels is proportionate. You purchase one more barrel at the cost and with it as well comes a driver I value at $6-$8 So, I yet again deduct that amount from the total amount of the driver (flex driver) and pass on the savings yet again. However, if your NOT purchasing any additional barrels, that is another component I have to purchase seperately for the same price you would be purchasing it directly from lava for, and discounting it.

Hope that clears it up.

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run.

SO, if we ordered say 3 barrels and 4 lava drivers with them, we'd have to shell out for the extra lava driver, is that correct.

But, if we ordered 3 barrels and 3 lava drivers, we're good to go?!!??

You got it exactly. By paying the extra that means whatever he may have them priced at right now. to those that are interested, the reason his bluray drivers have gone up to $50 a pop is because he doesn't have enough left to sell anymore and provide me with the drivers I need for this GB. So he raised it to a arbitrarily high price hoping nobody would be interested.

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run.

I've just come up with a name for the V2 barrels. Not many of us know, as much as I've tried to get people to use the actual name for the barrels, that the first run is called a Kryton. Kryo (cold) photon (light) merged together to form the Kryton.

Ok so yeah it's corny. but doggone it I'm corny.

so, I was musing. philosophizing. had a paper due for philosophy and was just in a kind or retrospective and deep..... thing. :) and it struck me that the distinquishing thing between the v1 and v2 barrels is all the GROOVEs on the barrel and head.

So hence forth the V2 barrels will be known as the Kryton Groove.
