thanks
I can't wait.

If the diodes press in and no soldering is needed, how does it work if you have a 5 pin blu ray diode?

It doesn't.

You GOTTA solder - there is no "diode socket" - you have to solder the diode to the driver board.

I dont' think I indicated anywhere that there was no soldering required. The only thing that does need soldering is the kit, if you opted to get a kit driver instead of a fully assembled lava driver, or to solder the diode to the driver. that is a necesity even with the lava drive. I'm not going to risk a bad connection to the laser diode because of a laser diode socket. Although it would be nice to just push it into a socket.

Ok, I decided on another extra also.

I'll be placing the order this weekend.

Yeah, again!

I need some place the put the three SLD1236VL's, two phazors and a blue-ray.

Now we just need a yellow or orange LD group buy

Scary thing is - it was almost possible to get these BEFORE I get the blue Fusion drivers I bought from the previous run of drivers only/ (almost).

Not a stupid question. If you've asked it, you can be assured that 20-30 others have asked the same thing.

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run.

I am interested in hearing more about the included kit driver, though i appreciate it might not yet be at the stage where these questions can be answered.
What would the possible battery configurations for this one be? Max current available for a red diode? Max for a blu?
Thanks.

I'm still working with lava to design the kit form driver for this. I'm hoping that it's going to be something like the fusion driver and will work with 2 cr123's but that's yet to be determined.

Whats wrong with the fusion driver as it is?

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run.

well that's an interesting dilema there. See, originally the driver was created by lava for the purpose of the first run. Bluefusion with lava's help refined the driver and put the time into making it his own. Primarily with designing the board traces and such. Since he's taken the time to make the driver his own, I would feel like stealing if I were to make the drivers on my own. even though it would be phenomenally easy to do. Just one of those ethics things. If I were to get permission from blue to reproduce them, I will. but not until then.

I KNOW nobody asked my opinion - but you KNOW I gotta give it out like crack to addicts :) Yeah...anyways, I believe that BF lost "rights" to his driver design when he took so freaking long to get them out to someone (me) to distribute. Just my $.02 <U.S.> I would personally think that permission from Dr. Lava should be obtained, not from BF.

I thought blue had a bunch of spare boards, why not ask him for those?

Pocketfluff - I have all of BF's driver bits right now in my possession. I will be distributing them out per his old GB thread, and the original barrel GB as well.
