It's because the benboost does not have a continuous negative. it need both the positive and negative to regulate the current.

Drivers such as the flex drive, or linear drivers like mine only require the positive input to regulate the current. The negative input and output are just there to make you feel good about hooking it up to something.

I gotchya. Funny...I've gone through two of them already and I just instinctively hook up the negative leads on everything anyway.

I've been hunting Kryton build threads all night, and driver pics are few and far between. It seems as if tinkering is going to be necessary in the long run anyway.

For a negative pin i allways drill a very small hole in the host with a dremel and a drill bit. Then cut a small nail to the correct sice and hammer it in. Tadaaa a ground pin! :)

Like so:

Now this was kinda rough but that did not matter as the tailcap was gonna be filled with epoxy. But you can do the same thing on any position with any size of nail. The smaller the nail the easier it is to solder onto it.

Cant wait for the hosts moh! :)

Greetings,,

Oh crap now the ground screw freaks and ponies are going to show up:crackup:.
That is good idea but I would drill and tap for a screw then solder to it. But if you don't have the tools your way is just fine way better than pinching the wire somewhere on the threads.

edit: Hey Matt how about a contact board with a spring or solder blob? I know you can make something to put down in their. A simple round circuit board with a solder tab in the middle on both sides?

Alright, I'm being told that the first 125 barrels will be done today, and the rest will be finished tomorrow. After that they have to be deburred and the entire order is expected to be finished on Monday.

Also have you giving any though to a top contact board? Oh and are you going to have the "O" rings and grove strips in colors?

Do the diodes have to be pressed flush with the head or recessed in them?

Seeing as how your focus adapter are so popular I wonder how much extra it would be to add that to the groove's focus adapters.

FUCK!

ANOTHER delay apparently....
She told me today they have 150 done, but the "milling factory" can only do 50 a day, and because of the their labor day coming up, they whole order won't be finished until May 3rd.

This is the third order which went WAY over the agreed upon date. I sent payment on Apr 3rd with a 10-15 day production time. So we're looking at an entire month.
My next order I'll be trying out a different CNC shop. I've spent over $4,000 in the last month with this one and they have not had a single order finished on time. The modules got delayed because they had an "important" order to finish. I know $4000 may not be very much to a CNC factory, but it's a lot to me and I like being pushed aside for a better paying customer. [/vent]
