GB #7 is filling fast now- GB #8 looks very likely and by then the new E series will be tested and reviewed-- but for now a new Pro Pl-D and a super deal on a screw-on BE sounds great to me. Post here AND send PM to be added to this GB list.. also dont expect the price of the E series to be same as Pro PL-D-- It WILL be higher..

Sorry but if GB#7 is going to close before the PL-E series is availabe (which Gray said before April 15th) then I am going to have to save my $500+ and pull out. I only want one high powered 532 and if that means waiting a little while I am OK with that.

The only way I would still stay in on this one is if I can get just the 10x BE (that is if it will even fit the PL-E) or if we wait for the PL-E.

@Gray will the PL-E series be compatible with your beam expanders?

Can you get a BE by itself, and if so - what will shipping be for the BE?

You can get the 10x BE on the site for $99 + $30 shipping. I was going to order one until the 30% shipping came up. Ouch.

No problem waiting to see if there will be a GB #8 I hope so..

The end date of # 7 will be dictated by how many we have and when..

I hope we will soon see the E series then but you really but I have been doing these for a while and I would just give JL the time they need to be *sure* they are ready.. Gray is not CEO(yet).. AFAIK the price has not been released.... so.. no worries my list is not binding and there is still more room,

I have no idea ATM if the E series will have a BE adapter made for it-- IIRC it is larger so maybe not for these BEs-- this line of them is being discontinued.. supply is limted to what JL has in stock. Prices on the newer line of BEs has not been released and ATM I have no details to share.

Regarding the temperature / current feature, the following is the version we set.
- Temp.25℃ -2_25A
- Temp.26℃ -2_25A
- Temp.27℃ -2_25A
- Temp.28℃ -2_10A
- Temp.29℃ -0_95A
- Temp.35℃ -0_00A

It means the current will be lowered when the laser reaches 35℃ and we tested several units of 532nm and it generally takes 5-8mins to reach 35℃, so the laser can work well and sure not well stable. It will not work when it is 35℃inside. When the laser cools down, it will work/emit beam again

As we discussed, it's just the way to prevent overheating and burning the diode. For longer and stable runtimet of auto currant drop

sounds like a very nice duty/rest cycle= and if you do not rest in time...it dims and that will
be a good sign, IMO, to let it rest unless you really need to keep using the laser.

As I wrote- this may not apply to other versions of Pro PL-Ds
It would be greatly appreciated if the new Pl-D owners kept notes about the amount of time it takes thier laser to dim and the ambient temp.. and perhaps how long it takes to get down to tempthat allows full power(that one may be very hard to log )

Wow, I'm very confused now...

According the the jetlasers.org site, the beam Expanders above are $70, $80 and $100, not $130, $150 and $180 and show about 50 in stock on each.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but I am trying to see what the difference is between just ordering from their site vs the GB?

Also, does this post not apply?

I was in for a 10x if it came with the three adaptors. :cryyy:

The Jetlasers page shows the 10x at $99 +($30 shipping) with all three adaptors.

Am I missing something. If the GB on the Beam Expanders doesn't come with three adaptors then it doesn't seem to be a good deal, unless in my ignorance I am overlooking something. Please help me understand...

the two additional free adaptors is news to me... Gray never mentioned it. I am only going by what I have been told. Your best bet is to order yours from Jel.
still waiting on word from Gray on the adaptors for GB. i cannot get one shipped to me free nor can I pay your shipping from me to you. I got the old prices from a past GB copypasta dont lie.

just checked-the old BE prices I quoted are listed in post #2 of GB #6 and in the OP of GB #5.


You are free to go to other sellers of Beam Expanders, but you will be back to JL- WAY cheaper and the others do not come with three adaptors AFAIK/

What you saw is the 'JL store' new prices-- had you looked before then you would have seen the old prices I posted. N/P easy to get confused.


UPATE Tom was correct about the three adaptors--my bad!- see edit at OP and post #53-a good deal just got better.

Latest from Gray... if the general consensis it to not close until after the new PL-E with active cooling is released ( est. mid to late April) we can let it ride, however if many are ready now we may close it sooner. And it looks like there will be a GB#8-- however I would expect this new model to come with a larger pricetag. ATM I am not sure the BE adaptor for Pro PL-D is going to work on the new Pro PL-E- I know its a bigger laser to allow for the TEC and fan. (afaik)I think a Pic has been posted of one w/o the black final finish.

SO... those wanting to have a end to GB#7 soon please let me know via PM and here.

I am anxious to see the new models every time there IS a new model but this one is special. It should do what some others claim they did. IMO

But its not in our own best interests to rush JL. That backfired on us a few GBs back with the failing of the 800+mW 405s. - not enough testing time was given. and almost all had to be returned /replaced/or refunded/ repaired and returned again-- no profit in that all a big loss.-- And it may have not been any fault of JLs. nevermind-- history now..

Happy to help with any questions- If I can't answer Gray will. He works very long hours already- and always is there for us even during the China Holidays.
If you have a desire to email JETLASERS maybe a few kind words in Gray's behalf would be a nice thing to do. You must contact Gray for quotes on items and shipping to those NOT in CONUS. -- Sorry my Canadian friends- I will ship to you thru another if you wish but latest siezures of lasers coming in has me very worried.

dhl sez its in Ohio-- and apparently still on the way to Tx.. so maybe it will be here on Thur, the vans head out early so it did not make todays derlivery--sad..

Also any news on the release of the PL-Es yet? Hopefully that is some time this week.
