The PL-D SuperSwitch is pretty easy to use if you mimic the timing on this video...

There are 3 things I don't like about it though...

1. Like mentioned before, a dim blip comes out when you hit the main power button
2. Power defaults to "medium" after you leave hibernation mode
3. The SuperSwitch is entirely nonfunctional and can be bypassed when the battery is about to die

I (and friends) am getting excited!
Me to Professor-hope to get tracking numbers this week.
But to not keep some waiting Gray may split the order and send two=(no extra ship cost on us)
My pl-d 250 does the same when you turn it on with the back orange button, a 1mW green light pulses once .+
Yea DrD I saw that blip on the wall two but iirc only with the 532 PL-D.

Also
My pl-d 250 has shifted to some crazy tem mode like tem01 or 11 at startup:(

Can you post a video of that?

1)It looks like a extremely low power 'blip' and I dont think is means much or is an issue.(nit?)
2)It has to default somewhere why not the medium setting?? no issue
3)WTH ?? I cannot make any sense of #3. explain plz.

:shhh: ..romo- you seem to have .... n/m

I'd prefer that the PL-D return to its previous power after leaving hibernation, but it's no biggie.

When the battery gets drained and is about to die, none of the SuperSwitch features work and the laser turns on as soon as you hit the orange power button (no code is needed). The beam was still plenty bright when this happened and I thought this was a major flaw.

Despite these shortcomings, my PL-D 600 is the coolest laser I own right now. The host is awesome and it's amazing that it's even brighter than my 1.9W 445nm.

There also seems to be some IR leakage when I shine the beam through a diffraction grating and use a night vision camera. I hope to get my LPM fixed soon so I can take some readings.

Any word on shipping yet? Also I was just looking at the OP, and I just wanted to make sure that my MO got to you and that the PO didn't mess things up again :)

With the chinese holiday being the same time as when hak was working with Gray it might be a little bit. My guess would be towards the end of the month, not sure though. We'll have to wait until hak posts back :)

This may be box 1 of 2 boxes-sometimes Gray does this so that no complete working lasers are in either box-can possibly save us probs w/customs if the tailcaps are not in the same box. I will know once I open it later today-DHL usually gets here in the afternoon.

EDIT UPDATE---
just in from Gray:

Hey Len,
Congrats for you and your team. I agree that 3rd or 4th place doesnot matter since they are not food experts and i guess you or your teammate might be more pro than them. I hope you enjoyed the contest and it is more important, heh.. You did a great job anyway!

Sorry for having not written to you coz our gmails all failed during the previous one or two weeks due to the transfer of the hosting or server thing. Now it's regained, fortunately.

We've shipped one package already with a DHL tracking number of ********84 and you will receive it today or later coz it's "With delivery courier" in which there are 2x200mw ti-b, 100mw ti pen 532nm, 150mw 405nm ti pen, 405nm-500mw(or 400mw)PL-C,................
Yours Gray

Other lasers will be shipped next(soon)

I* may get lazy and post the pics here later today once I open the box- still worn out from HUGE BBq cook-off-- join us. friend us and like us at FaceBook-- The Pit Meisters. I am there as Le Hakzaw and Le Henz

as I own no lasers that use the 15440(AA size 3.6 rechargeable) I have no way to do metering pics-for the Ti=B 532/200.
One of these goes to Tonga and the other to Bobby Shaftoe. I CAN drive tp Pearland(~ 40 min away and buy you guys one or two apiece and you can pay me for them- they are at the lighthound store and USUALLY in stock. Let me know if that is Okay and whether you only want one or more than one. You will need to wait on the box coming with the glasses anyway. shipping two boxes will cost just a little more but that is your call. If I have a new pair here I can send them, but I need to look thru my supply of glasses. My batteries for the other lasers are in the charger now- I will try to do the metering shots tonite and post them here in the GB#6 thread. I am working on this while watching the Texas Rangers beat St L in the world series. go Texas!!! bottom of the 8th Tex is leading 4 to 2.

EDIT UPDATE the Rangers WON. !!! GO Texas!

I have been away from home and the internet since last Tue nite and did not know that this box was on the way until this morning- I am not unpacked yet and barely recovering from the ordeal of the big cook-off. Maybe I am just getting too old for these. I am the senior member of the team. My 12 th year.

I have tested the TiPen 532/150 and it is right at spec.
I am not accepting the Ti-pen 405/150- It will go back to JETL and a new one will come in the very next box.

EDIT UPDATE........ turns out that the Ti-pen 405/150 requires using the extension tube and a second 3.6v battery-tested now to be overspec and making 187mW peak and a stable 175mW. yippeeee!

sorry to keep you guys waiting...

EDIT UPDATE-- the Ti-B 405 300mW is peak at 317mW and goes down to right at 300 stable.

The PL-C 405/500 peaks at 577mWs and is stable at ~550mWs = longer tests and pics will happen in the morning- I am going to get some much needed sleep for now. If I get back from the battery run in time I can send out a few lasers by sending my personal glasses otherwise we will need to wait on box #2.
UPDATE Box#2 will be here by friday.

WE are also waiting on a PL-C 650/300 in the same or following box.

I wouldn't ask you to drive out there to do that Len. I have 4 of those from Lighthound and the eye protection too. If you want and I am fine with it you can skip the batteries, test and eyewear for me! Thanks!

I have batteries ready for my Ti-B 532/150 :) Like tonga if mines not up to spec I'll just contact gray and work it out from there. No need to make a trip just for a couple of 14500s.

Also does anyone know the voltage the Ti-Bs work from. Does it need to be a 3,6V or a battery with nominal 3,6V thats 4.2 when charged. I don't wont to hurt it with extra voltage
