do you still have the extras that came with your first one?

I never get or want batteries sent with the lasers from China-bad idea.

Did you get the feel for entering the code?-

I was not getting the timing right the first day using the Superswitch. I would get it after lot of tries but could not really tell what I was doing different when I did get it right.

I let a lot of the guys at SELEM-most got the hang of it one had no problem at all. The ones that didnt like it were just giving up a little too soon. After you enter the last three 'blinks' you need to wait for it to blink once,& then it comes on and stays on-if it just blinks a scond time and goes out you must start over but turning off the laser at the tailpin orange button is not needed.

I like that you can put it on standby with the big button held down for 5 or so seconds- the laser goes out but the tiny LEDS stay lit and the laser comes back on with one touch. Gray tells me that the battery draw from the LEDS is very small and he felt it would OK to leave it on standby for hour or more. Guess I could time that somehow with time lapse and a digital clock.

Also-maybe some of you can answer this--- if it is on pulse would that make the duty/rest cycle extended of even be able to run these on pulse with continous duty?? iirc I saw Gray post something like 4Hz-

I lens cap to keep dust out of the lens would be nice I am making one with a glass diff. grating window. --dual purpose.
BTW it may have taken longer to get to you as the whole country shuts down Oct 1 to 8th,
I like that graph--

sweeettt
did you play with it at night yet? :)

Yeah its pretty wild, the beam is almost solid looking. Its the brightest thing I've seen yet, beats my 2w 445.

Oh the smartswitch. Ugh. I just wanna turn my laser on. :undecided:
It took me quite a few tries to get it to work the first time, and even now I'm still not good at it. Its great not having a key, but the switch is a PITA. The power level selection is nice I guess, but the pulse mode baffles me. Its pretty slow, and the only use I can see for it is to induce seizures.
I will say, the beam size and dot size is crazy tight. My PL-C wasn't even close to this small/tight. Its alot like my 12x Blu Ray. Even a few feet away on the door the dot is super small. So it seems to burn pretty well for just 500mW.

I'm sure I'll get used to the switch, but for now its frustrating. I felt this way about the Arctic at first but I got over it.

Yep, the switch is a real PITA at first, in fact, Gray tells me that his techs are working on a simpllified version that may be used in the next run. ( but I dont trhink they can afforf to re-do any existing with the one/one/three version. Trust me it Does get easier. Last night I was able to enter it successfully eight times in a row. And I do like the fact that not just anybody can pick mine up and turn it on TOO easlily.

And if you plan to use it again within a short time you can just leave it unlocked.

I have a PL -C & D based Lumia box and I only run each laser or about 2 or 3 minutes at a time. Swapping out lasers while they are in the rest cycle.

BTW the PL-D will not get turned on by accident which has happened to me seveal times with some of my Pl-Cs...... once it was my fav 532/250 and it was in my computer bag when the switch got 'bumped' on. I DID have the tailcap defeat pin removed , but it turned out that this particular cap either was altered for no pin needed at JETL or it was faulty. One guy saw the green glow coming thru the side of my bag and told me that I had a laser on in my bag--which, if he had not noticed could have been real bad for my fav 532 laser. That, AFAIK, cannot happen w/ a PL-D. I will be testing the tailcaps on all that come thru me from now on.

I dont rmemeber who but one LPFer at SELEM got the switch very fast and was able to do it many times w/o any problems. (icecruncher maybe?) Daguin had a bit of trouble and sorta gave up but then tried again later and was much better at it. Those with less reason for keeping thier lasers from being used by 'unauthorerized' people will not like it, as they, for the most part don't need it.
I don't really need mine to be that safe but, still, it is a non-issue for me now that I have it down.

Something else kinda odd. When you hit the power button on the back, the laser blips. Super quick, dim blip.

Also, that meter run was done with a half charged Tenergy 2600mah protected cell. I'm out of Sanyo cells, I gave them all away with lasers I've sold. I need to get a couple more and meter it again.

Ok, I'm getting some photos together to do a review, here is a quick preview.

My pl-d 250 does the same when you turn it on with the back orange button, a 1mW green light pulses once .

Also
My pl-d 250 has shifted to some crazy tem mode like tem01 or 11 at startup:(
