Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

hi all, my real name is Panos (as my username) and i am new in this forums but I had start reading almost every day posts in this forum like a guest before 2-3 months ago.
Did anybody seen (measured) the exactly output power of this laser? (or an other laser of the pl-e series) ?

thanks :)

Welcome Panos,

please put your location in your profile page- that helps a lot.
Also making an introducing yourself thread in the Welcome sub forum is a good idea-we like to know a little about you- like occupation/education/laser experience and goals.

AFAIK Ihave the onlyPro PL-E and Pro PL-D.

We needed to see the hosts ASAP so these two were sent to me, more for the new host rather than thier output- etc.

The 445 ProPL-D I have as splash due to the silver/grey insides- that is being fixed right now.
ThePro Pl-D I got is one that has a poor output of only 200mW of 635(c mount iirc)

I will be able to run the the max suggested time and graph.

Thanks Endcap for helping with that.

I feel that anyone getting the ProPL-E (especially) will be impressed and consider it to be thier 'crowning jewel' in thier collection--

All come with wallwart- and the extension tube- maybe a charger but NO batteries(ever) You get sleeves to alllow nice fit of all batteries.

Its an awesome host-- ownig a WL is nothing special-- too many are out there to be special.. The Pro PL-E is another story.. IMO- its the biggest out there and by far the best made host....I really like the unique internal focusing-- extremely smooth.

Have not seen a black one but this silver/grey is beautiful..

If anyone reading this is on the fence.. go for it!! You will not be dissappointed==promise.

And the after-the -sale customer support is the best you will ever experience. I dont ever remember hearing that about WL,

I am fairly sure there will be at least one more GB but, s4it happens so... who knows??

The crown on the ProPL-D is not glued on and easily unscrews to allow the BE to be affixed with threads..
The crown on the ProPL-E is glued and I dont think sny adaptors to allow BEs have been made or may not ever be made---IDK.
Any wanting to join this GB neeeds to post here AND send me an PM- I do not come to LPF every day now.
Get your funds ready as once I call for the money as you will not have a lot of time and those ready will want the order placed and a paid for asap.

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

Panos--the LPF is a great forum with a lot of experienced and knowledgeable members + huge amount of information contained in past posts to enjoy and learn from.

With JetLasers you do not have to worry ---always, the stated output power of any of their lasers is the honest/true minimum output.

The new PL-E 445nm at group buy price is an outstanding oppurtunity to have a really good 445nm. Even at full retail price the PL-E 445nm is a bargain and at the GB price it is almost silly not to get one if you are looking for or have ever wanted a high quality high power 445nm that can do everything.
The GB Price is as follows:
1.2-1.3w focus adjustable version : $250
1.5w with fix focus: $265

Nobody has tested or reviewed a PL-E yet because the finalized product has not been released/shipped yet. JetLasers has been fine tuning and tweaking the PL-E to deliver the best possible product and not just rush something out the door for "now" $s.
They are a high integrity company with the best customer support in the business.

hakzaw1 and Encap thank you for your info and forgive me for my "noobness" about this company. I really like this product and every info are important for me. this GB is only for the PL-E 445nm or is and for every PL-E (PL-E 980NM for example) ?

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

Panos---my understanding is the first PL-Es to be produced are 445nm and 532nm that people have been waiting for in this GB #7

Many others including 980nm 2W and 3W either are or will be available shortly. The group buy involves one shipment of lasers to the USA in one box, then shipment from there to participants within the USA which saves some shipping expense----outside of the USA you can still get GB prices by ordering directly from Jetlasers but will have to pay shipping to wherever you are from China.

On the JetLasers web site, PL-D shows as already available in 980nm 1W or 2W + PL-E 980nm as 2W and 3W are also listed.

Check out the Jetlasers web site at:
☆ Jetlasers Deals of PL-E laser pointers, Titanium handheld lasers, PL-D Pro code switch laser and dazzlers at JETLASERS.ORG - jetlasers

If you have any questions e-mail Gray at support <support@jetlasers.org>.

Tell him you are a LPF member and want to know whatever it is you want to know about--products, prices, etc. Am sure he will be happy to hear from you and respond. Ask for a LPF GB price on a 980nm if that is what you are interested in.

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

hopefully... here is the newest price list.

Special Item just added..

1W 532 JETLASER Lab Laser -for projectors, etc.
Already on a good close-out price of only $999(plus shipping)
This incredible labby can be gotten in GB#7 for $899
Has dial on PS/Driver that alows any power level yoy want.
It has port and plug/wire fir TTL modulation- Its quite large so you will need a roomy PJ- see more about it and the other powers(.5W & 2W) at JETLASAERS.org close-outs.

The price list below marked as ProPl-C is actually now the prices fornthe Pro Pl-D with TeslaCool that keeps he temp under control= no harm to driver or diode/DPSS.

SORRY guys- i waited 20 min. on these two files to dwnld but that was a waste of my time-
simple price list and easy user guides are all I ask- not new files that wont attach easily (for me) & fancy colors in lieu of the wavelength in numbers-

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

Thanks Hak, Encap, Jordan, Panos and everybody!
I'm going to unpuzzle the questions about PL-E and update some new pics now.

1. About AC/DC adaptor. For 445nm(or 405nm), it takes a 8V5A(》3A recommended) adapter and the plug port is Φ9mm, like most earphone jack-plug. We dont provide it yet coz the 8V/5A adapters we purchased and tested are not stable enough and we will ship one adapter for each laser when we solve the stability issues. Will let you know more about the update.

For 532nm and other wavelengths, it takes a 5V5A adapter and we will provide a working adapter for each laser. There is no problem with 5V5A adaper. Sure the adapter plugged in can recharge the li-ion batteries loaded but slower.

2. About batteries: Due to the power driver issue, the PL-E 445nm takes 2x 16340/18650/26650 and as it is a 26650 unit; 2x16340 is usually 3mm longer than a single 26650, the connection in between tailcap and button top of 16340 battery will be tight.

Obviously, it takes a case reducer for 2x16340 or 18650.
2012052250129297.jpg

BTW, we will ship the charger for each laser. The small sized one, workable for 16340, 18650 and 26650, etc.

3. About BE adapter for PL-E lasers.
We made a adapter for PL-E already though it doesnot fit perfectly but it still can fix BE to the laser front. But not all screwed in through. The issue is with the thread pitch which was machined a bit bigger than required.

See the drilled holes on the crown part of the PL-E. A M4*6 screw can fix the BE adapter

4. About the switch:
The default version is the two-button code switch, 50-70%/100% power shift, CW-pulse shift. The pulse frequency is around 10hz, a bit frequent than PL-D series.
This is the pic of the default version:
6928-pl-e-laser-user-manual-532nm-445nm-jetlasers.jpg

If any of you want the key switch or pressure switch other than code switch, just let Hak or me know. Actually it is easier for jetlasers to replace the two buttons with a constantly on/off button and a temporarily on/off button. No codes at all.

For key switch, it might be easier to add one on the back of the tailcap than the middle
part.

5. For the shipping
Sorry and as Encap said, we've been suffering from diode and crystal issue, so we didnot stock and ship 500mw+ lasers, either pl-d pro or PL-e for the past two weeks, so we need ship some orders overdue delayed this week and will ship the 600mw+ or 700mw+ 532nm orders next week. For 445nm, they are a lot easier to restock and now a few are also readily available.
So, there might be reviews of 532nm PL-E posted up very soon.

Just feel free to let us know if there are other questions for PL-E and i'm posting some pics first.

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

So is the PL-E tech / fan cooled or only one of those?

Actually it is easier for jetlasers to replace the two buttons with a constantly on/off button and a temporarily on/off button. No codes at all.

With this option what does the tail switch do, or is there no tail switch at all? No tail switch with the two side clicky buttons would be pretty cool.

Also what does the LED indicator indicate?

My guess --- the tail switch either clicky or key switch would be a master power to system switch --a good safety feature so that accidentally or inadvertently pushing the side switches as might happen if the laser was packed with other things in a bag, in a coat pocket, or someone unfamiliar looking at it and pushing a side switch would do nothing without the tail power switch turned on first.

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

I noticed on the Jetlaser site they offer a PL-E 830nm "Green" laser. I know I'm a noob but how can a laser be 830nms and green ?

I saw that too---is a typo of which there are several---the guy doing the web site is doing quickly and not proof reading, I guess.

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

BTW I had ask somebody from jetlasers (was not Gray, I didn't know him then) why at the pl-e 980nm specs is reporting that its wavelength is 830nm and answered me that it is a typo or silly mistake made by them (the website editor was very careless at this) and it is 980nm as the title says. So I suppose that this that you noticed is just a typo mistake too.

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

That makes sence.

After I typed it I started over thinking it and thought it could be the IR's nm before the crystal. Then I thought 830nms cant make green, can it?
Then realized it was time to stop thinking and sleep.

Thanks for clearing that up everyone.

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

Yes thats a typo..stuff happens--lol

AFAIK no lasers in this GB are TEC--all the ProPL-E in 532 (no 500 offered..yet) DO
have the fan. None of the 445nm Pro Pl-Es have active cooling but apparently do not really need it. 5Min on 1Min rest is no problem and maybe more(why push it?)

The Pro PL-E needs either button top style 18650s or 26650s-- OR something placed between the batteries to add a little length (or between the back one and the tailcap... THIS IS SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH CARE. Be careful to not do this in a way that will cause a short to the inside of battery tube. I successfully used a rare earth magnet between the batts. I wrapped the junction with a single piece of tape. I believe all protected cells are button top.
I also found that besides a longer time between charging the 26650s made an extra 150 mWs. over two 18650s ( 1.2W vs 1.350W)

Anyone wanting a Beamexpander for thier ordered laser needs to PM BOTH Gray and me.
Read Grays posts about the adaptors for the Pro PL-E--
The Pro PL-D use a very nice threaded BE adaptor , much better way of adding it over the other way.

*******************

PM sent to all the below-- Please post here an PM me to make changes.
JETL is building two more 532/6 or 700mW.

The ones in stock were paid for by GBers not in CONUS>> First to pay is first to ship. Sorry for the delay- we have no way to know what is going to be ordered.
_________________________________________

8.) Xenophobe..532/600mw PL-E with KEY switch with the 5x BE .. ( $70) +- ($610.00usd),total before shipping 680$usd.
9.) jnhowett Pro PL-E 500mW 532nm add 5X BE $510 +$70= $580usd before shippings.
10.) Jollyrajer73 -- 300 to 400mW (532nm?)

jnhowett:
Upgrade me to a 500mw PL-E code switch with the 5x BE
Also I requested one of the grey colored hosts and Gray said they have a few that they didn't send back to be refinished and it would be no problem making a PL-E in the grey host for me.
________________

^^^ You can order under 500mW or 600mW(or moar) Pro Pl-E in 532nm but NO 500mW.

The code switch on the PL-E I have on hand is very easy--works every time. request for a key lock(doable but may need to be in tail)needs to go to Gray.

The PL-E 445nm has pulsed/strobe mode - but it flashes VERY fast, so much so that it really does not look all that different..

Also the Pro-Pl-Ds ALL have Tesla Cool and do not need fans or TECs. Continous run time OK.
If the Pro-Pl-E was not so awesome many would be more excited about the PL-Ds IMO.
The newest Pricing for PL-D Pro was lowered quite a bit. (the old Pl-C Pro list)

questions?

Get your cash on hand for buying your USPS Money Orders- very safe, cheaper, and actually faster. Only 1.99$ at any PO.IIRC.
PM me for my mailing addy- make a copy(pic) of the MO for your records.

As I will not know the total of the shipping cost that will be paid after the box arrives and I test and examine/inspect your laser- I will send a LPM Pic to you and then you can PP me the shipping as Personal payment owed for service(the shipping) I ship only to your PP confirmed address- Insured and signed delivery-no exceptions.

DO NOT EVER PUT "LASER" ANYWHERE in the PP. PP will not allow use for any handhelds over 5mW. Send your MO with registered letter- I deposit and my bank transfers our funds to JetL. N/Ps so far in six GBs. JetL does not Take PP. so.. why should I??

There is always the remote possibility of a problem with US Customs ETC..WE all share this risk.

We use dhl Express- the best and safest= no package to me has EVER been opened. Once in the hands of dhl the package is here in Tx in ~3 biz days..unopened. So I re-ship around two biz days after. We all share the 15$ bank fee , the equal part of the dhl and the actual re-shipping costs.
