I think I'm going to cave in soon too. Should've turned to the dark side when nobody was selling his. Those cr123s are hard to find cheap shipped though.

I HONESTLY do not know what to say, guys....I have never lost a package in shipping before, I have no idea why it is just now happeneing....maybe when I got that little jerk at the post office canned for not assisting me he had some favors to call in or something :( I CAN assure both of you that even though they were not insured - I am taking responsibility to get them to you, and WILL....in the worst case scenario - you MAY receive the other one eventually, and if that happens - KEEP it ! That would be the least I could do for all of your waiting !

UPDATE 200mw 660nm red pointer modules

All - I KNOW I am a lunitic - BUT.....

As a service to you (and myself) I am keeping the purchase option open for these pointer MODULES {technicality, folks...don't worry !} until most likely at least Monday. If I can get them to pay for shipping, it is the perfect oppportunity to get me a little bit out of hte hole I dug myself into :) And as stated previously, I PREFER Google Checkout - so PM me with your email addy, and first and last names so I can send you an invoice - if you INSIST on paying via pay-pal - the price is a little bit more, to cover their fees....I despise pay-pal for what they have done to some of my friends, so I prefer to not use it unless absolutely needed !

If the non deliveries are in the UK in my experience you won't see the item for 2 weeks minimum. (as mine has been on a world tour it may take a little longer ;)) and with the good old posties on strike don't hold your breath!

I know its just me, but i canny get it to burn anything :-/ I think it probably needs focusing, but again, not sure how to. There seems to be two rings on the lens, one larger one, and a smaller one inside it, when i try turning the inner ring, the whole lot spins round, not sure if that is right, i would have thought the inner one would spin inside the larger one. Dont suppose anyone can shed any light on the situation. And how much should i have to turn it to notice a change in the beam, just a touch, or a full turn type thing.

Thanks in advance.

Mark where the slots are FIRST so you can put it back later.
Then you should be able to focus it by inserting a screw driver "flat blade style" into the slots around the lens. turn it very little counter clock wise to focus it for close burning.

But it sounds like the LD module may be spinning without the lens adjustment actually turning.
There is a post of one of these apart, you can see how it is put together, but ask SenKat before attempting taking it apart and voiding your Warr.

Here is the link to the breakdown pics of your laser. http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1187307086

IF this is the case, STOP TURNING IT! You will break the red battery feed wire that is soldered to the brass ring center of the lasers body, and connects to the LD circuit board.

If your itchin to burn something, For now use a magnifying lens till you get this sorted out.

I hope I'm making sense... I have AADD and while typing this I have mentally built 2 lasers and had sex with 3 different women. ;D

To focus for burning, you would turn the inner part counter clockwise about 1/4 of a turn and try burning.

You should be able to light a safety match at 7 feet without any focusing. I always have my lasershades on to find where the focal point is, it will be where the dot appears the smallest. I also use electrical tape that is taped to an envelope. When it starts to smoke I know I am at the point where the beam is focused.

Folks, turn the outer notched ring to focus. The inner ring is only the lens retaining ring.

Well now I am totally confused. The inner part on mine is slotted, and when I turn it, it does focus. In fact I tried to remove it and it did come up about 1/4 of an inch but it would not turn any more when I reached that point so I stopped. The reason I wanted to remove it was to clean the other side as mine does have a few specks on the lens. But it is only noticeable when out of focus with a very large dot.

You posted a pic to the part I am referring to, but I don't see any slots on the lens housing. Or are is it slotted on the other side of the housing?
