These are held up, abandoned, and I'm angry with the supplier! They are refusing to budge! I want some for my own playing/experimenting pleasure, and they are just super firm on this price. So, this is abandoned by me until a better source is found, or the price decides to drop.

This is a shame.  DDL and others put time and money into this GB project only to have it crash.

Yeah but it is better to find out sooner than later...I have no regrets about chipping in for this and I do appreciate everyone else that helped...and of course Daedal's efforts. The worst that can happen now is that something better will come along.. ;D

That is true... :)

The latest e-mail from them (a couple days old) says they have these at $30 a pop now. So, this makes them a better buy than the fastest DVD burner out there... OEM package, higher CW output, and a known spec sheet. So, I believe the only remaining factor is designing a small enough, yet powerful enough driver for these babies :D

Anyone interested?

There is no datasheet for these lava. That's what he was saying. there are lots of other diodes out there with known datasheets like the aixiz one.

I am interested, and couldn't care less about driver size. I'll put it in a Maglite 3 D cell if need be. Then I'll have a laser baton, self defense laser pointer.
