PL-G by JETL. Prolly(eventually) available in all the same wavelenghths as the PL-C series. more info when I get it.

Looks like you might have destroyed the other arctic thread, well maybe not destroyed it, but will steal several buyers from it.

Are these being produced in China? Did you redesign the host or did the manufacturer?

My input to Gray last year was simple. Some Like the WL and some hate it but i dont think many really love it. I said if the wanted to come out with something new dont just make a better Pl-C and dont copy the look of the WL i said the smart switch was a good thing but the rest of the WL---not so much.

Steve got the empty hosts made for ~$7 each :wtf:and he AFAIK got his diodes just like we did. From projectors(all 130s i bet) purchased in the US and shipped back to china-- they dont really sell them there and the diodes are made in Korea but sent to NY before going to Ca5io China!!! AFAIK that the straight poop- from two guys that talk to Steve(Chris)Lui on the phone and in person. JETL turned down WL offer to help make the Arctics- reason-- they did not want to be associated with and sub- standard laser. Nichia may own the design and just sold/leased it to the korean diode maker.

About JakeGT and Pontiac-- be assured that they will do well and make an outstanding clone so everybody will want both a pontiac host and a JETL PL-G and the Arctics.... not so much.

well I dont got to be on CSI to see that this is just the rough 'billet'(or whatever you guys call them) no internals or places for them yet or they would be showing-

I would not be surprized if this is still solid and parts of it are. I bet it gets polished up and anodized black. the rendering showed whay looked like two big leds and three more smaller leds. I was told that the safety system uses some new ideas and NO code just like the WL Arctics had but maybe it will have the multi-power settings options & smart tech switching..(and maybe only one or no keys)

looks like a nice start and proves that JETL is not buying others lasers and refinishing them - (which they have done and were totally upfront about that) and its no flashlight mod either.



My guess is the first run will be 532 as they have done the best with those in the PL-C hosts.give them another few weeks.

actually i do a drawing between those getting the same lasers and I get whatever.
the last drawing I got my 405/800 with poor focus and underspec- got a full refund and paid for a 405/500. got to keep $45 too. Aryntha got the very best 250/532 at 440mWs. in an earlie GB. I cant tell any big diff by eye from 300 to 400 mWs but the two that just came in---WOW- madogs 600 is close to peaking at 800mWs and Corbin's 500 hits 750+mW peak.
Together they pack alot of 532-Lrft me seeing yellow floaters just peeking over my spec while metering them.

So these will have the exact same guts as the PL-C series? (that is for 532nm, still will have the choice of 500mw/600mw etc)?

just the PL-G is a different host?
