Nope, haven't heard back yet. Hoping he will chime in during the next few days with his thoughts on 1 vs 2. Im in the same boat man and I think he is two. He didn't want to wait long to get his. As I said before two weeks and if no interest gains then we just go retail :D

Which reminds me to add the feeler end date to OP

this is not a safe assumption. unless you have measured the beams with a professional and certified calibrated (non hobbyist) laser power meter and done the irradiance calculations, you have no what what you're exposing your son's eyes to.

have these been checked for IR?

The yellow and white are beautiful.

And my son is completely mesmerized! The patterns move so fast and are split into so many beams it's not too bad on the eyes.

Yeah. I'm gonna have to agree here; audience scanning is very firmly in the realm of not-to-be-f*cked-with. :/

My son watches the patterns on the wall. To think I would do anything more is obsurd.

Pretty sure an ophir can handle determining the power of these. I hate the whole well its a hobby meter. Sorry but a ophir is 100x better than your hobby LB. I wouldn't trust a LB to measure these but my ophir will do just fine and I trust it 100%

If there are no more interests I think we would be better off buying them at retails. I mean the saving isn't big enough for me to buy 2. Even if I get two it'll be a hassle to resell and there's a chance that it might sell lower than the price we bought them for.

At this stage I can't commit to 2 as I'm saving for the 1W 520nm :D

I will post a quick thread on another forum and see if anyone is interested there. I dont think it will get that many hits but I know that forum is more "active" than LPF so I'll give it a shot. If we get nothing back in idk 48 hours then we can do retail if you both want.

Ill send them an email now about buying just 3/4 units. Im still in the air about buying two

EDIT: Posted on other forum and waiting to gauge interest.

***Added photos to OP***

*photos are Brucemir's and not mine*

As you can see from the photo below, the CTL-HM handles white beams very well :D

Man that beautiful. About a week and a half then. I still see it as beneficial ordering even just a few together. I think the company would take the order more seriously than just a single unit.

Re: FEELER: Laser projectors from $128; awesome price-power ratio

I don't know much about projectors but how can it combine a white beam with only 200mW of 650nm? That's barely even visible. Might compare to 5mW of 532nm...

^^ That is a very accurate statement- perhaps some PJ makers/seller should be using the word 'whiteish' instead-lol
- 50mW of green = 1W of 445 blue to our eyes. AND 650 VS 638 (like the LK 3D has) needs to be factored into the equasion too.....

Iirc my 3d is even less than that and it produces white in the images very clearly. May not be able to do a beam, but it does white images very well.

All LKs AFAIK now come with the much brighter 638nm reds.

other sellers will do this in time, but for now they rely of cheaper 650s in order to make sales and more profit too

++++++++++++++++++

my overall take on this GB--

I sincerely wish all the best for this GB-
but I would not be a friend if i did not point out a few things that really need to be considered.

Of all the criteria the mW vs $ may be actually one of the lesser important ones--

many here have had less than great experiences with the lower cost PJ-s

There is a REASON they cost less- you get no more than you pay for.

Example: cheap PJs = cheap parts and perhaps non existent customer support.
If these things are not built into the price you have no right to really expect them.

The REKE's many got here for $209 were nearly 'all' in need of something on the day they arrived. I persoanlly opened 5 of these and opnly ONE arrived not needing some kind of fix or tweaking-- LInna tests EVERY one during the 12 hours prior to handing them to DHL..

While LK , so far in GBs # 1, 2 & 3--ALL arrived working quite well to perfectly- some needed a minor dichro tweaking and anyone who finds that upsetting musy be very green about PJs and when they travel- the pros must re-align their kits a lot and that often happens afterTHEY move them going from one show to the next- Its not rare its SOP- and something all need to learn if Pjs are to be in your future.

ATM we are waiting for new green modules for three LK RGB5s from GB #4 - the wrong ones were installed and as they do this upgrading, a lot, mistakes can happen- LK will be helping us with the swapping out and just like alignment, it comes with the territory and a good skill to learn..WE will do our own labor and gladly too. WE will not be waiting for this to be done if they were to be shipped back & forth to China- and ONLY a fool would rather see that than doing the fix themselves.

I know T-mack is doing this GB with a good heart- and its admirable that he says at 0% profit--
I have >13 GBs completed- the effort to do them varies as do the out-of-pocket expenses I incur-

I have no intrest in 'buying ' friends and want all my buyers to get good after-the-sale support and service so that cannot be done for free- at least NOT by me.

AND until you have walked in my shoes NOBODY has any right to question how I do these-- I consider myself to be a part of the entire process ...the good and the bad. AND had I not added something to the final cost I would have gone into debt or just walked any from problems Those in my GB ran into- 'Its NOT my problem..deal with it!!'--- will never come from me.

ABOUT the amazing pics- Bruce has already told us that 'some' of his photos were made using a diffraction burst grating so unless you use one do not expect the same results and his skill also plays a part in how great his pics are- yours may be even better if your skills are as good...or not.

So bottom line... IMO buy cheap but expect little-
You can buy 'Mack' or 'Snapon' tools or go to Harborfreight and buy cheapies
you can get cheap eyeware or go with Eagles.

The scanner rates can vary dependent upon scan angle and two companies selling the same exact scanner may 'claim' way different specs --

Laser modules are often less powerful than the specs- I have green REKE that you turn on and off by pulling the plug-- no switch no key but it was 180$ ..

Cheaper shippers mean more possible inspections by customs- & possible additional costs from things like Duty, 'broker fees', or VAT. so again you can expect to get what you pay for and I consider the 72 hour deliveries by DHL Express to take a back seat to the inspections-that do not happen as DHL inspects in China and that seems to be good enough to get them here with so far--w/ none reinspected- ONLY a fool would want free shipping by china post or even Fed Ex or UPS-- I have found that buying from someone in China who is not the maker (& instead a drop shipper etc) is not worth the risk-- Lasersman and Yourlaser are perfect examples-(both are actually DinoD)+

They do NO in-house repairs at all and getting them to just open the box pre-shipping to listen for loose parts in side or plugging the PJ to see what is working or not is VERY VERY hard-- these companies have NO QC- the buyers do that- and thus you get screwed when you have an issue ( & you should expect issues when buying cheap) outfits like DinoD are happy to fix or replace- BUT the shipping BOTH ways will be on the buyer and typically that can be $160 or more for both ways-- THUS there is actually NO warranty at all as who ships a 160$ PJ at there OWN expience od $160?? you would be much better off keeping the broken one for parts and just buying another-comprende'?

I hope all get great products in this GB- and if not IMO it is no fault Of T-Mack ..as you are the ones making the final choice . All in a GBs share the risks involved. -- and when a GB is done like this one the risk chances go way up. No offence Tony--

I will be here should anyone want a LK projector or software like I-Show- QS -Beyond or LSX- i can get you any of these at a very competitive price.

I was VERY pleasently surprised when I opened a LK RGB5 last night- the difference even between the other lower-cost PJs even the other LKs is HUGE-these are built like tanks- thick heavy Al plates everywhere- very clean work- no goopy goo white hot glue at all. sealed to keep out dust- the scanners make no sound at all- and with all the free extras and upgrades my guess is we got a $3000 deal and paid only $1248-

GOOD LUCK Guys!! Hope you all get good PJs
+5 for T-Mack when system allows--

looking fwd to seeing lots of new reviews--

Re: FEELER: Laser projectors from $128; awesome price-power ratio (Ending ~Jan 20)

I find most of that very irrelevant and slightly BS. We have seen Brucemir's photos of this EXACT unit and the white is VERY nice. Is it perfect, nope, but is it as horrible as you make it out to be, HECK NO!

The reason for doing this GB is I don't want to wait xx months for your next GB with LK and ATM I don't want to pay the 10% price increases so I decided to do my own and get a projector ASAP. Plus its the first one I will own so didn't want to pay $515 + 10% and then get a unit that may or may not work well in sound mode. I'm not bashing LK since I want to get one in the next GB but I want one now too! Impatient, yup, but Brucemir highly recommends these for their beams and I can't argue with him.

I also don't know why everything is aimed toward Tony since I am the one holding this GB and doing all the work. Tony has just fallen in love with this unit, like myself, after seeing Brucemir's amazing photos. If its because I "called" you out, or whatever anyone wants to call it, about why I got a better price from Linna on the LK projectors, it was 100% out of curiosity. If anything figured you would want to know that a solo buyer asking LK about a price got a better price than what you did in a GB. Figured that was important for at least you to know going into the next GB so you could realize that maybe the price Linna gives you isn't necessarily the best price you can get in the GB. Figured it'd help especially with the 10% price increase you were talking about. Take it how you want but that's how it was intended.

Got another buyer comitted from the other forum, one still waiting back to hear final word. He is committed all the way up to the 1W professional if I can get him a discount on it. Sending email to casa tonight on that. Hopefully the other buyer for his work and school gatherings is getting one as well since that would make 5
