Re: FEELER: Laser projectors from $128; awesome price-power ratio

UPDATE!!!!!! WOOT WOOT! 5 Units needed, duh, BUT drum roll........... $145 each plus $62 DHL shipping for a GRAND TOTAL of $207!!!!!!!

Bajaiman, It'd be the shipping price I quoted you at last night (I used a random zip code in your country, 323 iirc, so if you PM me your exact zip code I can get you an updated shipping cost) $125 + $74 = $219 shipped DHL to Indonesia :D

They said we could get them for $125 each if they were all shipped to the same place but in the end it'd cost way more for them to be sent to me and then sent to everyone else. Its not a huge discount but its a discount. Hard to discount an item that already is a good price

Re: FEELER: Laser projectors from $128; awesome price-power ratio

Update......double checking shipping costs to Indonesia and realized that EMS is the cheapest option at $64.62 so this is good news to international buyers. Please still PM or post your location and zip so I can verify shipping. In the end it is up to the buyer on what shipping provider they want.

The members in the US will want DHL for a few reasons;
  1. Its the quickest
  2. EMS is $99.62
  3. UPS is $117.84
  4. Enough said ;)

Need 1-2 more units ATM to get the discount price (depending on if a current member decides to grab 1 or 2)

I've got a few questions if you don't mind...

What will be the wavelength of the lasers?
How many mW each wavelength?
I'm assuming that the projectors can take 110v-240v?

My kids will go nuts on this and most likely they'll dance around on the laser pattern... Is this safe without the goggles?

300mW 450nm
200mW 650nm
100mW 532nm
Combined 600mW

I personally don't have a projector yet but these are designed to be in night clubs. Ive seen a few in person at concerts and night clubs and yes they shine in people's face. Is it the best idea, not sure since i haven't personally tested the power output of the designs. The idea behind these is taking that 600mW and spreading the beam (with help of the scanner) into patterns so that pattern isn't the full 600mW

I will ask brucemir if they are eye safe but most projectors are. It might be a good idea to put the patterns slightly over the kids heads. I personally wouldn't feel safe with a beam in my eyes even if they say its safe. Even when at concerts and clubs, I will make a serious effort to avoid direct contact with the beams

It would be cooler if they had 635nm in them but in all honesty, why does anyone need a 635nm? The point of a projector is to combine the RGB beams to make different wavelengths. Get a controller and combine to your likings :D that's the point of a RGB projector to me. Others have their own thoughts on this and I respect them but that's my thoughts

The yellow and white are beautiful.

And my son is completely mesmerized! The patterns move so fast and are split into so many beams it's not too bad on the eyes.

I don't know much about projectors but how can it combine a white beam with only 200mW of 650nm? That's barely even visible. Might compare to 5mW of 532nm...

Iirc my 3d is even less than that and it produces white in the images very clearly. May not be able to do a beam, but it does white images very well.

The Casa is for beams. The 3d I have is for images, but it does beams Ok too. Nothing like the Casa though

brucemir said:
Hello again,
As far as a comparison of the two, to me they are two different machines. The Casa is much better than the PD2 as far as beams and tunnel effects as it makes less complex shapes. But the PD2 is much better at making shapes and is also a better machine overall. The PD2 has 19 DMX channels compared to 9 for the Casa. I have only used them together once so far, but the combination of the two compliment each other well

That's what Brucemir had to say when I asked him to compare the two units; CTL-HM vs LK PD2. KEEP IN MIND the PD2 is a $515 machine. I'd hope for $300 more it makes better shapes  It also has ILDA and so it'd be a better comparison between the CTL-HL and the PD2 but then the HL would blow the PD2 away IMO. I mean its a 1W machine

Anyways, for a $200 shipped projector to beat out a $515 projector in any category is just amazing IMO. If you are after images then take a look at the professional units. I just watched a video of the CTL-HL and the images look very nice and its still under the price of the PD2 in the last GB :D

ANYWAYS I am currently debating grabbing two of the 600mW units just so we have the 5 needed (also depends on if the other potential buyer grabs two as well). Slightly debating grabbing the 600mW and a 1W professional but I have to find out if they'd allow us to still get the discount if we had 4x 600mW and 1x 1W. If we cant get the discount unless we get 5 of the same then I wouldn't grab the 1W. Don't want to screw up the discounts for everyone else :D

Yeah me too, hence why I was like hmmmm maybe I should just step up to buying two. Forgot I got a decent holiday gift from work so that will help pay for it. EOY bonus should be coming sometime soon so worst case I buy two and then see if one of my buddies wants to buy one off me. My friend is huge into the car scene and they have meets all the time, one of his buddies is a DJ so I think I'd be able to sell it if need be.

Otherwise I'd hook them both together and make INSANE tunnels!
