I have two A140 diodes left in stock that I can offer here for $40, otherwise I'll place them on ebay sometime in the next few days Once those sell I'm strongly considering doing another buy so I can have another projector to strip apart and play with.

I'm thinking $40 shipped for the first diode, $36 each additional which gives me a buck or two for the materials and time I spend packing. I can do international orders for an additional $5 per order. I don't need any money until I have the diodes in stock but I'd like to get at least a dozen committed orders before I pull the trigger and plunk down the cash. Post here with the number you're interested in and if enough commit then I'll go for it.

The two a140 diodes you have at the moment are $40 each, shipping extra or shipping included?
I'm interested in one.

Have you done a GB here already or PL perhaps?

That's shipped to the lower 48 states. Insurance adds another $1.80 for the first, probably not much more to cover additional pieces. I can do other shipping options if desired at additional cost. Not trying to profit here but I need to make sure I break even including the paypal fees.

I bought a projector myself and harvested the diodes, gambling that I'd be able to sell all the extras. I kept a few, sold most of them on ebay and a few here. I hate to buy an expensive piece of equipment just to tear it apart but there's a lot of cool parts in there. I want another projector to experiment with alternate light sources which is why I'm willing to do another buy.

Hmm, doesn't seem to be much interest in this afterall, I guess there's been enough buys that everyone who wanted one has one by now?

It's not a bad price, just there are better deals and people with more reputation (real reputation, not that number under your name) than you hosting them.

I'm not sure how people are doing much better with the deals, my offer was pretty much my cost, and I'm open to negotiation. I'm not too worried though because they've been selling briskly on ebay. First batch is completely gone and another projector will arrive on Monday. If anyone is interested in some diodes feel free to PM me, in the meantime I'll list them in small batches on ebay until they're gone.

As for reputation, one has to start somewhere. I'm fairly new on here but have been hanging out at alt.lasers for at least a decade. Sam Goldwasser has loaned me equipment on a number of occasions (and got it back) and will vouch for my honesty. Additionally I've been on ebay since the late 90s and maintained 100% positive feedback. The items I'm offering are about the price of a couple of decent pizzas, it's not as if I'm asking people to send me their life savings in a briefcase full of unmarked bills :)

I've got about $343,716 in cash (unmarked of course) ready to send to you.
Where should I send it?

I'm not sure if this belongs in the B/S/T board or the GB board. I know it doesn't belong here.

Imma move it to the GB board. If you want it in the B/S/T board, let me know.

Peace,

Well PontiacG5 is selling them for about $35 each + shipping ($4, covering the entire order). In terms of raw prices:

$800 shipped from Newegg / 24 = $33 / diode.

Shipping:

$1.80 domestic (USPS)

That provides about $5 profit per diode, or about $120, and the harvester gets to keep the high-powered red diode and all the optics.

Don't get me wrong though, I don't begrudge anyone their profit for all the work involved with handling a group buy. Just some people are working at even lower margins than you're willing to.

Also, you can make more if you can ship on demand, rather than wait for everyone to pay for their order and then purchase the projector for sale. Selling your diodes for $40 shipped in the BST section would definitely go well.
