Do these have the Blu-ray diode AND a red diode?

If this really is the same sled as the 6x, it will come with a VERY nice red diode, capable of >200mW, probably 300, but unknown for now...

Basically it is THE SAME diode as in the "Dilda lazor".. It has an unusually long can, indicating a long die inside.. They could be like open cans but with a can..

I've only had two so far, one was murdered, by being shined into a mirror.. The other is still waiting to be used.


Oh, and of course, there will also be an IR diode, of unknown power.. Not that it matters much.

nice to know it also has a red. i will gladly throw 400ma+ into the red and see if it like it or not

Hehe, well, i know for sure, that it does not like 350mA + a total reflection from a mirror..
Someone wanted to see what happens, and, well.. The mirrors melted from the almost doubled optical flux! It's the same as raising the current almost twice!

Anyway, since the long can red in the 6x sled is the same as the one in a dilda, i know that it can take 440mA. Not sure for how long tho, but i can ask.

Alright, as long as what IgorT has said is true that there is a red in there capable of burning as well as the dilda or an open-can (I don't doubt you IgorT, just making sure that it is the same sled as the 6x, like you said), then I'll take 1 whenever.

Basically $60, $30 for each of a burning red and a burning violet, really not all that much more expensive than getting the PHR and an open-can red in separate sleds, justification complete ;D

I'm *hoping* matching 250mW each of red and violet, maybe even in leadlights (duty cycle is key). That will be BEAUTIFUL, and I just live the symmetry of it, 1/4W of violet and a 1/4W of red in pointers, WOW, how awesome would that be? I'll settle for whatever they're capable of once some more testing is done, but that would be spectacular.

This morning I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror ;D Then saw Igor's post promising a decent red diode bonus I was able to peek in the mirror just enough to see the bloodshot eyes and the bags under my eyes...like a true addict I had been burning the midnight oil getting my fix... :-/

I am stoked, glad I asked I noticed the dual optics and was like hmmm..  I have only been into this for like two weeks and I am TOTALLY hooked.  I need to get some goggles though any recommendations for a set that will cover red, violet, and green?  PM me with a suggestion.  I don't want to hi-jack.

I'm not promissing anything... I'm just saying that IF this is THE sled, that is found in the drive commonly referred to as the 6x, then there will be a nice long can red in there.

BTW, that elongated can really looks funky.. It's so unusual to look at, and after that, normal diodes look strange..

I decanned the one, that was shined into a mirror... I would have to compare it to a regular short can 16x diode under a scope to say anything for sure, because naked it doesn't look special.


Oh, it has some letters stamped in the can.. We will know soon enough..
