Wes is using a different supplier, I can guarantee that. My supplier is a personal acquaintance in China. I dont really trust Wes, With his rep, and his reputation for scamming people, I do not think he will be able to do it right.

I doubt his prices are even real. I would not trust him with MY money.

anyhow, these CAME IN TODAY!!! I will be packaging all night!!

round 3 list will be updated after i finish packaging up rounds 1 and 2.

What's the deal?

I don't begrudge the person running a GB to make a little money off of it.  It is a hell of alot of work and risk.  I am willing to pay a little extra to be assured of quality handling and responsible adherence to a strong work ethic.  Most people running a GB make a profit.  You cannot live off of it, but it is there.

Remember, Wes is trying to get back on the good side of the members here.  He is running his GB for the least he can for that reason, NOT because it is wrong to make a profit.  IF Wes' GB goes through, I seriously doubt if he will do it again for so little.  Once he figures out how much work GB's are, he will want to get paid a bit for his time too.

ok i packaged, printed all the postage, put them on, filled out forms, and its all ready to go!!


I will be dropping these off at the post office anyways, because A few of the square Barcodes on the postage on a couple packages are a bit smudged. I want to see if that will be a problem, and if it is i will fix it.


ETA AT MOST Friday for US buyers. I donno about the internationals.

Forget the minimal profit.... If you say you want one, pay for it.
The person running the GB depends on your word and if your word is no good, what are you?
I will never run a GB because of all the "I'm interested IF i can get the money" or " I want 3 but I have no money but I can wish a lot" etc etc.
Dreamers don't make GB's work - Post only if you are committed and keep to your word. The good members running a GB need commitment not iffys, maybes, next weekies or other crap posted just because.

yea hemlock is right. Lots of iffys and backouts.

dont post if you dont want one. But we do have more than 30 so its ok this time treb. you are new too, so that insures you i guess..



anyhow, I just extracted the red didoe (i think) and it died on me. I am not sure if it was ir or red, but there is 3 diodes. one in an impossible to extract heatsink that is part of the body, one (the middle one) that is not the blu-ray, but is easier to extract than the other one (this is the one I extracted) and then there is the blue.

If you number the diodes (looking at the sled from the bottom with the aluminum cover removed exposing optics/innards) (like in the picture posted a few pages back). Going from left to right is Diode #1: Blu-ray Diode #2: The one I extracted Diode #3: The one that is almost impossible to extract

The one i extracted died before i could get anything out of it. I attached 420mA and it was LED. however, i am not sure if this is IR or red. I took precautions and used a thermal power meter, and no its not a working IR, its an LED. Now the question remains: Did i kill the IR diode, or the Red?

wannaburn, is this picture (I edited from Hemlock Mike) identifying the correct diodes for Red and IR? I know the blu-ray is correct for this GGW-H20L sled. Hopefully amk's sleds are the same!

About the red, I have not personally tried it, but I seriously doubt that it will take 420mA's like the long open cans.

Does anybody have any information on the reds?

sure. there's plenty of interest. and minor rudeness or inconsiderate acts aren't much by themselves, but they add up, clog up, and pollute the atmosphere...
btw: imnsho, it might be advisable for a newbie to think a bit before smirking at a serious post by a senior forum member. For one thing, you may find his advise valuable in the future. Then there's the unimportant reality that, aside from more knowledge, he very likely has more, bigger, and undoubtedly prettier lasers than you! ;-)

Well i know that to have anything sent to Aust from the US is exactly 5 working days. so what ever day you sent it, it should get here the same day on the following week


Soo grateful for these 6x BR. i was planning along time to buy a 6x br burner but keep backing out at the last minute cause they were too exspensive at $300+ each.

Yeah Amk!... This is an incredible deal!

wannaburn, I just read back to Hemlock Mike's posts about the 6X sled that I got the picture from. According to him, the center diode is the Red, and the one on the right is the IR.

What do you think? It's important to me now, because of the picture that I posted. I want to fix the picture so that it avoids confusion...
