Re: GB: 520nm diode murder fund

Let make a contest for who has the right guest of the maximum output. To make it more exiting. :)

I'll put my imaginary money on 123mW :p

Sending my part in a few minutes. I can't wait to see what they can do.

Once DTR gets some I'm probably going to run one at stock max current. I wonder if I should go 3-element or G2 for the lens...

Well crap I missed it. Can I at least donate $10 to you for your trouble? (Or start on a second diode?)

Or we could split my donation? No big deal to me either way.

That works, let me know if you guys want to do that :)

I don't need anything for my trouble, getting to see 520nm is worth it :D

Two diodes would be better for the larger sample size, I know in the past two diodes have been bought for M140/12x murder funds, but these diodes are quite a bit more. Do you think we could raise the funds for two to kill?

Yeah I think we could get a second since the first went so quick. It would be a shame if you only got one and it turned out to be a freak but we didn't know it, then everybody killed their green diodes by setting them to what we thought was a safe current.

But if you don't want to start another I am fine splitting with apex.

Sounds good! I think someone else should get the second diode though, better to have two persons observations. Anyone want to volunteer? Blord perhaps? Best if it is someone with an Ophir head or similar for the elevated response time to get the peak power reading instantly before it dies.

We already have a wavelength reading from zraffle's diode so it will be obvious if we get a freak wavelength diode with the first one when I measure it. I want to see what kind of wavelength can be had when these are cooled with a TEC.

Got both your payments, added to the list. :)

I've sent another email to Will asking where to send the money. I will be sending the money to will after the last couple payments come in. :D

I don't have a spectronometer. It is better to test the wavelength along with the output.
