I have my drivers and my diodes....should I hook them up to power for a test or just leave them in the thing till my damn hosts ship?

Oh, well that explains it :D Well i don't feel regretful that i didn't get a 3.8mm head for the grooves because now i know i couldn't of haha. I would just leave it in the little bag until everything got here, but still test it before you put it in the host :)

Groove doesn't come with a 3.8mm head. though i'm sending one to Mrcrouse to make it so I can press fit a 3.8mm module!

side note I thought these where 5.6 diodes??

3.8mm. They are made for pico projectors and I imagine they need all the extra space they can get when designing those. :)

I am not even trying on that front to be honest. There are many more people on this forum clamoring for them, and most of them have better claims to new tech than I. It is sort of like trying to get a McLaren when your only car is a Ford Focus. You are kind of expected to have a lot of the exotics before people let you get dibs on a waiting list for the newest, baddest stuff.

Do these come out of a sled? I have never heard of a 3.8mm 405nm diode. I was aware someone passed the 1W mark with a 5.6mm diode from a sled (can't remember who or what sled but i can try and find it if you dont believe me). Does only Lazeerer sell them? I just did a quick search and these are very well capable of hitting 1W. I don't know where i have been because i have never even heard of one.

Yeah he has a video on his YouTube from at least a couple months back with them hitting almost 1W and I told him then I wanted one and he said he was working on getting a few to sell. The there was talks DTR was getting them but he hasn't yet!

Bro, take it from me.... don't mess with it until you are ready to build it :(

I'm now hoping to get another diode this week or next if things work out. I'm ready for it this time too.

Have you already tested the second diode ? Are the data from the first diode in line with the second diode.

Nice that little driver is cool ARG. I also know that Lazeerer's X-Boost works for the PL520s as well.

Only problem with the XBoost is obtaining one. Seems to be extremely difficult. I have sent two or three PM's to him over the course of a couple weeks and never heard anything from him. He must be really busy

Working on it, it will be done this weekend for sure as I have lots of spare time then :). I can generate the graphs then too.
