^^ I agree, I have been waiting for a good deal on OEM and hopefully we can get more in on this GB.

Re: GB oemlasersystems goggles

I would like style #34 and KRY - KTP Green, Blue, 190-579nm.
I am not in SLC that often, I live in Providence (Logan). The company I work for has an office in SLC. I am a service tech and cover 4 states. (Utah, Idaho, Wyoming & Nevada). I do go to Springville occasionally.

Between your occasional Springville visits and my occasional Wellsville visits, I'm sure we can get those goggles to you without any shipping needed :)

You need to promote this more. Everyone wanting goggles should be pointing all new members wanting/needing goggles to this thread.

I absolutely need to promote this more. Any help from anyone is much appreciated and will help us all get closer to 25+!

Re: GB oemlasersystems goggles

Alright, I'd like to participate in this as well. I'd like to get good protection from 405sm and 445nm, so I'm looking at getting one of these two models:

ARG - Blu Ray, Argon, Blue, KTP [NR-ARG-EN207] - $80.50

YLW - Blu Ray, Blue Diode, 457nm [NR-YLW-EN207] - $101.50

Style 60

The first has a OD 7+ @ 190-532nm with a VLT of 48%. Cost: $80.50

The second has an OD 6+ @ 190-450nm, and OD 5+ @ 451-460nm with a VLT of 50%. Cost: $101.50

The first pair seem better suited to what I need, but they are way cheaper. Is this just because of the VLT rating? Any suggestions?

^^I couldn't decide either that is why I went with the KRY - KTP.

From what I see on their specs, the ARGs look better... and cheaper. I'm not sure why either. I'm getting a pair of DBDs for a wider and higher range of protection. Downside is that the VLT is a bit lower and they're $175 before discount.

I updated the OP, just let me know which ones you end up wanting to get.

Yeah, those caught my eye as well.

Cool, thanks.

Those goggles you picked are pretty pricy, but very nice.

I've got the TRI-KTP in frame style 38 and they are extraordinarily nice.

Just wanted to say, I have two different styles of the ARG eyewear, and they are great for 405 and 445. My 445 peaks at about 1.7 watts, and with the ARGs, I can view the dot with absolute comfort. They're great for 532 green as well, but I'm pretty sure they don't do a thing for the IR component.

For violet and blue, they work very well.

Awesome, thanks man. I think those are the ones that I think I'm going to go with.

Another example of other possibilities, but for what I need, The DBD from oemlasersystems - $175 is considerably less than the lasersafety alternative T5L03 - $500. True these have a 3+ in the red spectrum as well... but I could buy a second pair for red protection at $80-$100 for similar protection... and a lot bigger selection of styles too.

Re: GB oemlasersystems goggles

The [ARG] has a OD 7+ @ 190-532nm with a VLT of 48%. Cost: $80.50

The [YLW] has an OD 6+ @ 190-450nm, and OD 5+ @ 451-460nm with a VLT of 50%. Cost: $101.50

Both will do you fine for 445nm if that's what you're after, with OD-to-spare in terms of power reduction. The OD on the ARG might be too good for some things, but OD6 to OD7 isn't a huge leap.

I've got the YLW, and I like it because yellow is very easy on the eyes. I didn't need 532nm protection because I have an ML7. The VLT looks good on both, but I still like yellow, like what they use in those yellow-rooms for mask exposures.

Re: GB oemlasersystems goggles

I'm still trying to decide. I want some good broadband safety glasses for the visible spectrum. OEM is blocked at work so I haven't had much time to decide.

I'm still trying to decide. I want some good broadband safety glasses for the visible spectrum. OEM is blocked at work so I haven't had much time to decide.

For the broadband, the best I found are:
DI3 - Pump Diode, KTP, 532nm, 808nm - $147
DBD - YAG, 808nm, 980nm, Harmonics - $175

Neither has protection from yellow or red... so you'd have to get a separate pair for that if you're looking for TOTAL protection.
I am buying the DBD over the DI3 because of the high protection from all UV up to 532 and then 700 past 1100. The DI3 is a step lower OD for UV to green and covers 808, but not above. I plan on using some 20-100W 808nm-1064nm IR in the future and wanted to keep that all covered.

There have been some excellent suggestions in this thread for some good green protection, uv to 445nm, uv to green, some more broadband that has OD2 or 3 for red... check the links in the thread for more info
