Why can't rckstr drivers work for blue-ray? I don't see a problem.

Kenom,
Thanks for the reply I will send you a pm but I have a little problem.... Ummm, I don't think I have the transaction ID on file. :-[
I'll check again but let me know if that is a problem.

The RKCSTR drivers work perfectly fine for Blu-ray diodes, you just need to make sure you are using the 3.6v RCR-123's, that is all.

they have a higher dropout voltage than even the old fusion driver so the 2 3V batteries can't provide enough voltage.  If you do what senkat says, using rechargeables it might work while the batteries stay above the  dropout.

EDIT: kenom tried using rechargeables and says it didn't work with blu-ray.
also, not being adjustable, the rckstr drivers are hard to optimise for output ofr the bluray PS3 diodes, which have quite a range of lasing thresholds.

Well, they have worked fine for me - two operational blu-rays have been sent out in Kryton's using RKCSTR's drivers with RCR-123's - putting out an average of 12mw each with no issues. Each one was run for over two hours on a fresh charge, prior to shipment.

as lava says, each bluray is different in it's individual properties. I've tried the rckstr driver on 2 different diodes and got 1-3mw from it. so unless it's adjustable it's just not a viable alternative for bluray.

You get the lens from me but it's only acrylic. if you want a glass you have to look elsewhere as I've only got 2-3. and they are MINE. JUST BACK OFF~~. (lol)

;D Don't wory kenom! I will not take your glass lenses... I'll laser battle you for them! Last one to see wins. :D ;D

Its ok I have a glass one of my own and like 3 acrylic ones. But the axis housing that I got with them were sealed with some black apoxy. I cannot open them and I don't have a dremmel. THats the last time I shop at that axiz laser store!

I feel a warm swell of pride in all the happy people that have gotten thier laser barrels and are totally in love with them.   I knew when I set out to start this project that the initial interest wasn't going to be as great as when folks held the product in thier hands.

Now I feel as if a part of me is going to go into hundreds of homes all over the world and it fills me with pride and a sense of accomplishment.  Forever will my name (Kenom) be mentioned by laser enthusiasts around the world mentioning the wonderful product I brought to the hobby.

Conceit?  Maybe a little.  We all strive to accomplish something of note in our pathetic little lives and I have attained not the culmination of my dreams but at least a good stepping stone and I would not have been able to make that a reality without you, the laser enthusiasts who so much see the value in my product and took a risk in investing in this product.

Thanks. ;)

Bob Saget - full house (with the olsen twins) and he did, or does that funny videos show on TV - using corny lines, etc - I don't think your "rant" was corny - we all deserve a piece of hte action, and the history of this forum :)
