To make all your waits a little tougher...

Survival laser, with the new firedragon. One of the pics has the 100mW 532, but its overwhelmed.

I've learned a new method for taking pictures of lasers. Take 100 pictures, and have 10 succeed, delete the rest.

Also had a survival laser accident :$, accidentally it was PERFECTLY focused on one of those generic laptop bags, 16 feet away. The bag started melting... sweet.

The run time on the firedragon is great. I ran both the survival and firedragon for about 2 minutes. The survival needed a break, but this one was "warm" but felt like it could keep going for a while.

Things I learned:
How to take pictures of lasers.
Lasers need proper heat sinking to be fun.
Lasers roll on tables.

Cheers!

My step dad just got his and we did his after mine, so I guess mine was probably delivered also. That's 2/3 of mine, orders were placed on the 9th.

Hopefully it is what I think and I get out of work early enough to hit the post office :)

Yeah I gotta note also, will pick it up tomorrow. I have a wedding in the afternoon, but I should be able to meter it in the evening.

The wife went and picked mine up :) so I have some 18650 charging now :D

I got around to metering mine this morning, It peaked at 393mW, stablized around 360mW and has about 19mW of IR leak

This Laser is an absolute beast to hold, its size an weight compliment its nice green beam :D even though my wife says it refelects ceratin anatomy lol...

I am topping off one of my sony cells before I meter this thing but I have to say my first impressions are all good.

The construction is amazing. Smooth threads, unbelievably solid feel, nice key lock, light up button, smooth shutter, everything looks better than I expected from a chinese drop shipper like dinodirect.

The beam is fat but I kind of like it as it looks more menacing than the hair line beam of my other 532nm pointers.

Using a 150mW+ metered pen as reference this does look brighter even in my semi lit room. This is also using the supplied battery right out of the box with no extra charging. I think it may perform better with a full premium cell. (will meter it shortly).

Assuming this comes in at around 300mW with negligible IR I will have to give Dinodirect a ***** 5 star rating for this transaction.

$149 for 300mW 532nm + great host + charger + battery + EMS shipping....nothing else needs to be said.

I came home from SELEM to find this laser waiting for me, cheered me up just a little :p

I'm actually pretty surprised, the quality is better than I was expecting. I love the fat beam and the divergence could probably be fixed with a little tweaking to the last focusing lens. It is slightly unstable, but only the power output. I haven't seen it mode hop yet.

They're somewhat focusable too, if you don't mind the entire head being loose. You can unthread the entire front half without doing any damage to anything but the sticker. The head does sort of flop around unless it is threaded all the way in though.

Thanks for organizing this one RHD!

Yes, it's fat beam should match up with a quad red beam better. Hopefully it runs more stable and modulates well with TEC cooling. It looks easy enough to extract though, just a few screws from what I can see.

I'll post my findings up somewhere though, if you were interested.
