There is an offering for approximately 500 HD dvd drives for $4200 delivered. These drives contain either the PHR 803T head (100mw+) or the DT0811 50mw+ violet diodes. Odds are _VERY_ likely they are all PHR-803's.
This comes out to only $ 8.40 a unit.
If i get the right answers to the questions i am asking the fellow who is selling them; i'll probably end up buying a lot of 'em.
I need roughly 250 of them for a business venture. If anyone wants in on a group buy i'll host it! 500 of them would be far more than i could use in a lifetime because the item i am building has a *very* specific niche application that doesn't have many users. The device i am building only needs about 15-30mw so it can use either violet diode
I would ask about $3 extra a piece for the diode alone delivered anywhere in the world, 4 extra for the whole head delivered, and 14.00 extra for 1-3 whole drives delivered in the usa. If this feeler gets about 100 or more responses i'll go ahead with the buy. If it gets a huge response then I could arrange orders for more!
