so, the board will be fine with the 10.8 volts the 3 batteries would put out? the resistor would handle that right?

The board will take up to 37 volts IIRC.

yup. just dont leave it on for LOONG periods of time, you will damage something. try 4-5min on, 3min off

Got mine today! I was also really surprised when I saw how small the boards were. Thanks for taking care of the diode problem, and thanks for starting the GB!

hrm.. need a confirmation...

will my board (assembled) run on 2x AAAs (red GB 16x diode) and be able to burn stuff and pop balloons?

You have to put in at least 6 volts, more is better. You could always try 5 AA or AAA batteries.

no LM317T based laser driver will run a red laser on 3 volts.

6v at least for red, 8v at least for blu-ray.

that will give you full power
