I was admittedly puzzled when no one said anything about Paypal early on. It's my understanding that's the entire reason the spin-off company even exists.

PP started cracking down on companies selling lasers.

I guess I should have said something about it earlier. :(

I presumed the reason for the spin-off was so that they could accept paypal through the spin-off without jeopardizing their main business's ability to accept PP.

If the spin-off doesn't take PP anyway, then why didn't they just keep selling them through DD, but remove PP as a payment option for the high powered lasers?

I guess I knew the same thing you did, but drew a different conclusion. I don't understand the purpose of a spin-off if it doesn't get them around the Paypal concern?

That does make more sense, doesn't it? Maybe Paypal cought on to what they were doing quicker then expected. It sucks though. I would have some reservations handing them my CC number.

So are you guys saying we are in deep shit when we purchased the laser X_X

I'm sure no one is saying that. The payment server was on a https connection so it was secure and I'm sure DD (Lasersman) won't destroy their rep by doing anything shady.

Also I'm pretty sure all our orders will be still processing as its the weekend and they won't be open. Wait until Monday and see how things go.

@RHD sad to see you having to pull out of the GB =(

I don't see any problem here myself. It just adds a frustrating complexity in my case. My Paypal account has US funds in it. If I have to withdraw those funds to a bank account, Paypal dings me a ridiculous 5 or so percent on the actual exchange (maybe even a bit worse. Then I loose a few percent more on the CC exchange to pay. All said and done, it costs me like an extra $25 or so. On principal, that's just silly, considering that these lasers have no import restrictions in my country, and Paypal shouldn't have objection to me using them to buy this.

No not really. There is no reason to be worried. I'm just normally paranoid bout CC numbers.

In most cases the protection that your CC offers is actually better then what PP offers. (At least I think that is correct)

Sorry if I made anyone worry.

My order still says processing. I think it is the same with lazerer. I bought a laser from them and they had shipped it out without changing the status from "processing" to "shipping." That is my theory at least
