It did drop to 4000CHY a few days back, I just checked it is indeed $650 but i understand what you're trying to say, It's something to look into not that I am insisting in buying from that chinese webstore.

I asked andy where he got the diode from and he said it was a high risk source, and he doesn't know if he will actually receive the diode.

That was mentioned a few posts back, I'm willing to do it, but it is more of a risk than getting the diode through ebay.

We wouldn't be able to communicate with the seller if anything happened, and I don't know enough about the site to determine if that seller has good feedback or not.
I will do whatever people want, but understand that there is more risk involved when buying from that site.

Fair enough, I might get a bit too excited sometimes :) Thanks ARG for organizing such a great testing platform even for such an expensive diode only you could have pulled this off, I'll send some $ for the support , can't wait to see the results. Man this is awesome.

Yea...I did a rethink on this...IF it was thru PP...that's one thing....and IF it is your own money....BUT...under the circumstances....I would go with the proven track record source...period !! Thanx for the GB...

Perhaps we should impress on Podo the desirability of PP ??? !!! BUT...his beam shots are VERY promising !!!!!

As said already on PL, I have some "on the way" but certainly I have no guarantee if they will ever arrive but the risk is one I take because I had some spare cash.

ARG is doing the right thing to get them from ebay where there are some guarantees because the last thing anyone wants is the money to vanish and the diode never turn up.

If my diodes do turn up; we have more test units available and of course the data will be shared with ARG so he can distribute it to the group.

Andy your tone is one that I really never experienced here at LPF sorry correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you are planning an informational blackout. That would be a first here I believe. With that being said I hear you on the massive amount of money involved, however plenty of old schoolers have provided as such long before and never as far as I know held back because of lack of monetary provisions from other members. If this is not a true statement forgive me, if so I WILL be giving some funds and publishing results for the whole forum just the same. Sorry to sound rash and sorry to take from the thread.
