Also, pro-tip, perhaps mail it to the winner from this tester? To avoid two more delayed Canadian shipping sessions.

You guys should set a date for the actual draw, so that those who participated call all be online waiting for it ;)

I concur. Has anyone given any thought to the date of the draw? Any Eason we couldn't set it in the next few days?

Not sure how many following this thread have been following the thread DTR made on this diode, I believe it's titled "Hulk", etc. Anyways, I will mention here what I posted there, my test results.

I went ahead and bout one of these from DTR mounted up and ready to go with an X-drive set to 1.4a IIRC. No fancy testing like we will ultimately see here, just my output tested on the NoSpin Ophir recently purchased from Speedy. With a G9 I am getting right at 1620mW, and with a three element I'm pulling 1350mW. Beam profile and dot are very similar to the 9mm 445, maybe slightly smaller. It also has a similar splash which I guess is not surprising. Mounted it up in a custom titanium host which I believe I may have posted a pic already somewhere above.

It is and likely will be my favorite laser for quite a while. Not sure anything will beat this for some time. Expensive, but considering what you're getting when compared to what it would require in a DPSS 532 it's significantly cheaper and a whole lot more compact. It happens to be one of the smallest lasers I own.

I'd love to win another one of these. My luck with this sort of thing always sucks so I'm pretty sure someone else will soon get to experience this diode in person.

Cheers!

I'm getting worried ARG, it's been a while since we've heard anything.

I wasn't part of this GB, so perhaps I shouldn't chime in here - but I understand your sentiment - I almost feel frustrated for you guys as a mere outside observer :(

I think what I suggested before makes some sense. Pick a date, do your draw, get things moving. Why not pick this Friday, April 18th, at 8pm Eastern time? Have someone reputable like a forum mod do the draw. Then ship it out. Done. As mentioned, it's not my place to say, but the above certainly sounds like a brilliant plan to me :)

Hey guys, sorry about this. Been a bit busy at school, else I'm usually more on top of things.

I've sent another email, and a PM to the guy testing it. I'll keep you updated as soon as I hear anything.

If anyone has any concerns just know that it is a veteran member testing it, and last he said he does have the diode in his possession.

ARG- just paid attention to your screen icon, did you do that shot? It's amazing. If so, what type of power on those beams? Camera type and settings? I've got a great little mountain range 15 miles north I have always wanted to do some laser photos on.

I've heard back from the tester, he'll only take a couple more weeks with the diode then it will be shipped off to whoever wins the draw.
