Either your camera takes great shots, or that is a nice, richly colored beam of 532nm goodness! I am now
Even more excited to get mine! Is the lpm you referenced from gray, hak, or your own? Im just curious... congrats buddy, that pro is a fine lookin lady! Are you happy with it overall?

Hak, if you got your ears on; did you happen to get those nitecores in? I would like to protect my brothers home from potential lithium apocalypse...and if you have some decent goggles for sale (532 nm) i would love to add these items to my happy little package. If i'm out of line here, p.m me a picture of your middle finger :) if not, p.m. me a price and ill poo pal it to you.
Okay buddy - will add a pair of safety glasses for protection from 445nm and 532nm!~ I will also include a power graph with the laser shipment - sure the testing result might vary when Hak receives and tests it.

Gray! you clever dog! Your smiley leads me to believe that you dont' think i have safety glasses..you're only half correct. I have decent goggles for my 445nm ( i gave them to my brother until his arrive from sleaze-bay), i don't have nice goggles for the 532 Pro i am about to get my eager hands on. I only know what i read in this forum, and although the goggles i already have should protect any wavelength from 100-490nm..i don't think they have great IR filtering, I may be wrong, but doesn't a 500mw dpss 532nm have a decent amount of "invisible damage byproduct" to consider? I am perfectly prepared to be called a "noob" if this is wrong...just trying to keep my peepers in playing shape!

Anyway, i hope everything is fulfilling and happy for you over there in your homeland Gray! I'll talk to you soon!

p.s. does JL have any tripods (clamps) back in stock that would be good for the PRO's? if so, i will buy one :)

Glad it finally arrived after the long waiting. :)
The Laserbee LPM video for the laser is here: PL-E Pro 800mw green laser at 532nm - LPM - YouTube It hits high but drops also fast - sure it might perform a bit better if it is fixed on a tripod.

Will talk soon - have a nice day!

Hi Gray... Thank you so much for this wonderfull build your company made :)
It's my favorite handheld now!

I saw the video earlier on YT and i was thinking that the lpm video made didn't really say anything couse it was moving around allot :)

But after checking it here, ''and i will make a LPM video'' it shows way different readings :D and am more then happy!

Love it!

Sm...

P.s. can you keep me updated on the 10× beam expander ?

Best regards, a happy and returning customer.

Damn Smeerworst, that's more than a Beast, it's a Monster!!!

Great video, impressive output, a solid 1W for 2+ mins.

Those photos alone ought to sell a lot of Jetlasers PLE-Pros.

Great job! +1 for ya.

Re: GB#1st of PL-E Pro Lasers and PL-E 2.0/3.0 Clearance - May 2013

GREAT PICs 69

I hope all see the reflection off that item on his wall-

it is NOT afaik a mirror but that reflection is every bit as dangerous. you eye-ware needs to be worn until you are double sure you are out of the danger zones- We have had three incidents so far that all happened the same way ... people are trying to take a pic from the drivers seat- holding a laser AND a camera at the same time- then forget the outside rear view mirror and it takes only a very quick flashback to your eyes to be a real problem-

the opening of the human eye is considered to be 7mm

But when you are in the dark your iris wil open much bigger and the size makes the entering beam many times more dangerous.

just keep in mind that these lasers are the most powerful light source know to man- brighter than the sun. Every bit as bad/worse as watching arc welders.

The first sign that you are getting a dangerous amount in your eyes are afterimages.
Audience scanning is a delight to see as long as there is NO after image.

IIRC more than two dozen people got VERY serious eye damage at a Moscow laser show where they got eye scanned many more were also injured but they did not know it- our eyes have NO pain receptors and our brain will fill in the 'missing' places for us.

so until a doctor looks deep into your eyes you have damage you are not aware of.

In a lawsuit heavy country like the USA a good lawyer will win a case against any show operator who does not do all the pre-show requirements & measurements to assure his show plan is accurate he will lose every time.

ANY power of laser is BAD for the eyes-- Lasik should never be attempted on ones self.

be very careful with both your lasers and what you post here. This forum is read carefully by those that would like to have us in the same situation as those in Au, no hand held lasers over 5mW.

PM is the best way to find more info to know if you may need to see a doctor- PM a mod and they will help you from there.. hak

Yes, the video on Youtube doesnot say anything coz it is too shaky!!:)
Very nice pics - just saved them to my hard drive. i see you are using the default grip instead of the diamond knurling one.
P.s. can you keep me updated on the 10× beam expander ?

The new 10X beam expanders are being machined now - they will be available soon. Thanks!

Carsen

Yes Carsen i get your point - what i mean by the safety glasses is 190-540nm range which protects from both 445nm and 532nm. Actually the 532nm laser is ir filtered thus has little ir residual - it is much safer esp. when wearing the goggles.

Regarding the tripod, actually any standard tripod will work, so there are lots of tripod on ebay with better prices and lower shipping cost. :)

Re: GB#1st of PL-E Pro Lasers and PL-E 2.0/3.0 Clearance - May 2013

Thanks Gray. I take no risks with my eyes...ever. I know from all the hours in lab from college that the eye is not something to take risks with! You're a thoughtful person for being so considerate about it, and i hope everyone noticed Hakazw's comments about the subject. This hobby is only fun because it is a privelege most of us barely deserve. To harness something previously only accessible to the elite scientist of the world, to handle a technology that until 100 years ago was only speculated in equations governing the mechanics of energy and the universe, and to be able to do so with free will and unsupervised freedom is what's exciting about this hobby. ...it is a glimpse into the raw power of small things in concentration, a sample of how awesome and mysterious the sub-atomic world is, and it really is an honor that should not be taken for granted. This hobby is not fun because you can point at things, or burn things, or scare things...it is fun because it is a rare chance in life for the average man to wield control over extraordinary forces. Sure, all those things i mentioned are exciting, but they are not the root reward of owning and operating a laser. I may be new to the formal organization of "lasering", but i have marveled at the beauty and awesome power of lasers since i was a small child...and i never would have believed that i would have the opportunity to own something as powerful as we all now have access to...and i don't turn my laser on to see what it can do, i turn it on to remind myself how lucky i am. That's a little tangent i guess, so take it for what it's worth. Anyway gray, thanks for the Safety glasses for 532nm. I can't wait!

Re: GB#1st of PL-E Pro Lasers and PL-E 2.0/3.0 Clearance - May 2013

Carsen----ITSSSSSSS HEREEEEEEE

wow sweet laser!!

a quick check on my (high reading) kenometer lite shows its overspec- these are the same size as the other Pl-Es but some very nice improvements-- there is a threaded cap that screws in over the IR filter out front- the rubber 'On" button is gone and there is a nice metal one-

I have 12 nitecore i2s here in stock and a few are already sold-
get batteries with these as i 'think' it legal to ship USPS IF a charger can be called the 'intended device' and the charger will fit into a small flatrate box for 6.15$ shipping with tracking.

what a nice charger I will never use a cheap one again..another members suggested i just remove all the parts from the box and simply flatten it- duh!!
what I did not think of that is a mystery- so all will be sent with the original boxes.

I have been telling all that the new BEs are NOT ready yet.
A better Q is how will they be attached??- the holes it the crown of Carsen's Pro are not threaded- could the new BE screw in where the front lens cap??
That would be great!

If anyone is interested I will have 4 spare 3W 9mm diodes w/ stock lens to sell on Monday at 85$ each= can add to any box shipping out on Tuesday (monday is a holiday)I will be performing my first 9mm diode-ectomy on a new PJ that arrived today-- prolly on sunday.. I love to see whats 'under the hood' i am reducing the price of the last A-130 diodes to 20$ each.

@lonepine- can you add an occasional indent/paragraph in your posts?? please?
they make me cross-eyed. lol

I used to write posts like that and until i knew better I always typed everything in upper case...

FYI I am surprized there has not been a big fuss over the new JL 473nm Pro PL-E??

could the quality of Laserglows be THAT much better??
quote..
Wavelength: 473 nm (blue)Starting at: $399 Includes free shipping! See pricing and ordering tab.
Output Power: 2 mW - 99 mW (Varies with model)

Aquarius-10 Sustained:10-19mW
Peak: ~25mW O.E.M. Class IIIb $549

almost 2X what JL wants.....

LG sure is proud of those..

about JL and IR filters ???? you are kidding right??
thats a given- any quality laser maker would not even give that a second thought -- just like rev. polarity protection all JL lasers come that way-- ALWAYS

come back to this thread in an hour or so- I will torture Carsen with some pics of his new laser--

I will post my power graph sat night..

forgot to mention this..
the Pro Pl-Es can be broken down more than the earlier models- this means a smaller case for these can be used-as the front battery tube is not glued in place.. also there is a standard 1/4 inch tripod hole on these- so any tripod will make a great laser stand-but I would shy away from the flimsy and cheap- this is a fairly heavy laser and it is NOT shock proof- you drop it and sorry but the warranty cannot be expected to cover that.

AND
lasers have been known to roll off of things if set on their sides.
in the below pics area standard fat=size pen-pointer a JL Tib 532 150 9still have a few in stock here in Tx. and on the right is our fav the JL Pl-C.
Every time i do shots like this I am reminded of 'Handy Andy' meeting with Travis in a hotel room to sell handguns in 'taxi driver' the Ti-B would be thk ppk 9mm - the pointer a derringer and the Pro ,of course, would be the 44 mag.

d>(*U*)<b
^^^^^^^^happy hak-- with his noise cancelling headphones on .... rotfl

Re: GB#1st of PL-E Pro Lasers and PL-E 2.0/3.0 Clearance - May 2013

SERIOUS HEADS-UP
The new pro=lines all have a threaded 'plug' that screws into the front.
A possible problem wit it-
If you have accidently clicked the ON button and dont know that if you press the tailcap button the laser will fire and if that lens cover has not been removed that would not be good if it was on very long- ALSO being quite small this part may get lost easily. It DOES have a hole in it(not through it) and I guess you could teather it to the crown holes or to the tail cap holes or just add a small lanyard to the lens cover. I ma just leave mine in my laser case to keep track of it..
These Pros now have a greatly improved ac/dc wallwart- the plug is now perfect= stays in place with N/Ps. AND a clamp style laser(mic) stand is no longer needed because there is now a 1/4th inch threaded hole for using any camera tripod.

The new all metal on/off button is also a great upgrade.
and there is now another 'jack' in the tailcap for the addition on a mouse tail switch.
if you want one be sure to add it to your order- I have no extras here with me= but plenty Li-Ions and 10 in stock NiteCore i2 intelligent safe chagers= VERY nice and so much safer-Gray hooked us up with a nw supply od high quality glass film-bonded Diffracton Gratings so all will get one in future shippings from me.
