This holster is GREAT DEAL works quite well with Spartan(about the smallest btw)
- JL Pl c and d series- the Skys and many more-

but at full extension its just a tad too short for a PL-E with *second* 26650 battery tube (we are now at 13 inches) AND the JL 5X Beam Expander- >15+ inches- and rediculosly long but a rush from this handful that needs to be entered are the world record longest (non home-brew) handheld laser- if enough want them Gray may be able to get some 445s with the 9mm (there is already a 2W Ple Pro BUT its only downfall is the neeed for two 16340s- face it 2W is a lot of energy from just two tiny batts in fact the uber cheap ulktra-no- fires drain in a few minutes use andf when it rerached t eh end they go dim in a few seconds) So for a decent 2W 445 either two 18650s or KKs are in order.
As they come now to go with two big cells you are faced with issues like spacers for good connection or O-Rings to hide gaps- they were NEVER designed for two 650mm long batts and its too much for ALL,, except the 445..

they would need to be further machined to make a perfect fit for the second batt tube also IMO they will be use protected button tops OR flat tops and a magnet or spacer of some kind.


making one where none of this happens is not easy-

needing to use a super long spring has its drawbacks as well.

All i can say for sure is when you try both in a laser, be it a single cell or more- when you tighten the tailcap and have a button top or more importantly a pair of them you may experience some of the following-
1) the neg end of you cell will show where it has been dented by something when trying to fully tighten the tail cap (will not happen w/ flat toppers)
2) there will be a gap where the tubes meet with either the front or the tailcap-or each other.
3) you try anyway to make that DAMNED gap go away (OCD much?)
that you hear a tiny crunch come from inside as you just did at least some harm or at worst just broke something.
4) with flat tops you sometime cannot get the laser to work it needs a spacer to make proper contact at both ends also you may feel the batt(s) moving inside as they are too short to be held firmly in place.




ALSO i would not suggest this for any other color- just the 9mm 445.

The new B.E.s should come soon- AFAIK they will thread into the front of the pros where the lens cap would be.

BTW hwo amnt Pro oinwers ahd at least once pressed the rtail cap button with the lens cap on?? dont lis now- as i did it again alst weekend at SELEM-- YES I am BACK
I spent a night in dallas and another in Plano with super friends and just got home a day or so ago- car is still 1/3 packed-- i tooh WAY to many item i considered FS.

I have a few stills to add at the SELEM 2013 thread and a long video but all in all i really dropped the ball on taking pics and vids- this SELEM was just a blur of coherent photons and a mind blower-

the club was off the WALL!

Our DJs were the absolute BEST TY RagDoll and his two partners.
the shows in the big auditorium were awesome to so well done- and a gas white projector that was unbelievably spot-on and the scanners must have been 50K-

To buffo Adam B- you are the master LEM host- and how you make every year better is a feat in itself- PLEASE find a post by buffo and +rep him with a note 'I heard what you did at SELEM 2013'
He only comes here on occasion so there is a good chance he will be shocked when he check his rep logs.

bad news first-

JL has been doing all they can to get me restocked on KKs amd 16340s
many others i know that deal with china (like aixiz, Dr Lava and others)
are having red tape every where and costs to get item both out and intpo china has gotten very bad.

SO until we can get these batteries to Texas you may need to source them from larrydfw ( a goods friend) or try battteryjunction or Lighthound.
I go by a lighthound every time I go to AixiZ but they price theirs very high a much as 50%

I have about 10 18650s left here and twice that in 16650s


Brother mariomaster Alex fixed and calibrated my graphing Radiant X so I will this week make graphs of all inventiory (jl) and also about 5 handhelds from my collection- I spent 1 1K doing both SELEM then the LSO course no results YET - prolly Monday- I think in failed by one wrong answer- I get a do -over free on the exam only but that means traveling to the next class. and prolly staying over night $$$$

the two hours allowed for the test was about 1 hour too short- I was well prepared- lots of time spent in study and almost every source out there open to use except getting help from each other.

I think given three hours I would have passed WITHOUT the 6 hour lecture and 209 powerpoint slides-
I had all that weeks ago- less than 80% of topics in lecture were pertaining to the exam- in some ways you could have used the lecture to eliminate possible questions. BTW in all fairness to Greg he did a great job and considering the 'normal ' deal for LSO is $1500 and takes THREE days. so he needs to do all in a single day but same exams.

so ILDA gave us a price break at 445$
there were six in my class- I think they all passed.

One at least was taking this course for the second time.

I blew that math when my laptop would not work on wifi
I had accidently flipped that tiny wifi switch on the side- i had no idea it even existed.
So no internet for my on that one.
I admit I paniced-- when he said 'one hour left' i could have sworn that we only used 20 or 30 minutes- that was whn the panic really set in.

Although we were warned, i got caught by at least two 'trick question'

If I were a teacher i would NEVER use these. I am 66 and i can say I have never been asked a serious 'trick' question EVER - only in a joke do we see them and otherwise they are surely VERY rare.

I dont even think aixiZ knows the duty rest cycle these need- standard chrome plated brass aixiz blank module IIRC copper diode holder- smd driver inside.

any host that used a 12x30 module ahd handles a single Li -ion would make for a 10 minute 515 build.

Some may be coldhearted and slow to warm up- BUT once warm they hit peak quick and 3X spec +/-and are fairly stable ( for a DPSS)

I think I will have one here already to offer when i change filters.
Do NOT look for a lower price tag in fact it will very likely go up if you want one of mine. I showed i=oner offf at SELEM and MM put a high quality IR filter in front on mine and it peaked ay almost 100 mW that is 10X spec of 10mW and more than 3X the spec of 30mW. With no exceeptio all i demosed it for were impressed with cost vs output and MANY , being projectors geeks, wanted to know when gray would offer 473 in a active cooled labby- my reply was -- well for one thing they seem to like it hot!!

I will get with Gray to looking a nice 150mw 473 analog projector laser.

To those seeking DPSS yellow- IMO not likely at least in the near future.

The LK-3D was very well liked at SELEM- considering who was there.
I may even do a seperate GB just for these little beauties.. new and better prices too/ ALSO It may be possible that the graings reduce the output to below the 5 mW limit for MPE. < that was about the ONLY neg I got on them at SELEM- so i will be metering anf graphing mine now that Alex fixed my software issue.Thsi should be very easy to do as the RC has a pause button so at ANY time I can go static and take a reading-
it would be very cool if these could be used for audiebce scanning!!

I think those are discontinued/no longer available. the choices at the time were 1.2W or 1.5W 445nm.
The only PL-E 3.0 now showing is 532nm, unless hak happens to have one that is not sold.
PL-E V3.0 Lasers. Limited in stock. Clearance Prices. Discontinued model. - Jetlasers.org, Online Shop for Jetlasers Products. PS even a 150mw 532 will be brighter dot and beam than a 1W 0r 1.5 W 445nm blue if viewing is what you want one for.

You can still get a PL-E Pro 445nm in 0.5W, 1.2 W or 2W and an Equality 445nm in 0.5W or 1.2W---all of them are great lasers and good values.

I have read many bad things about Western Onion and had some money lost by them many years ago-- you can use WU with no fear as they only times people get ripped off is when to have no knowledge of the seller-

Can you ship the new IR filters for the 473s? Or do I have to send it to you?

No...

The day I get them I will replace the filters on mine and the other one sent to me for return. I fully expect this to be both an easy thing( no need to take the laser apart at all)AND the end result will be no IR leakage and still 2 or 3 times spec of 30 mW and more ilke 5 or 10- X the lower spec of 10mW.

The next day I will be sending them out to all 473 JL owners. no charge of any kind.

IMHO were it NOT for the IR filter 'snafu' we would have a long waiting list for the Pro Pl -E 473 to be made. at 300$ even just 10 mW is a price comparable to what other makers/sellers 473 high quality lasers charge.

I posted pics of a JL Pro 473 along side of a JL 532 and a 445 DIY and the green was larger than a quarter- while the blue was bigger than a nickle BUT the 473 was SMALLER than a dime. I think only a 405 would match the divergence of a pro 473..

If anyone is willing to pay the shipping i will take out the old filter and expoxy in the new one free of any charge but once you see my pics of doing this i am sure you will just opt to save both time and $$ AND diy.

With the soon to be offered new JETLASERS Beam Expanders the divergence of the PL- pro 473 will be even sicker.

I am expecting a sample BE to come with more diffraction gratings and the new IR filters very soon.

HOWEVER our restocking of Li-Ions has proved to be near impossible=every attempt to ship them to me from China has failed. all red tape.. more carriers are refusing service and to mark a box with a different contents is asking for trouble. no pun intended by it looks like china shippers are playing ping pong with our battery shipments.

@ Cisco sorry bro - still no KKs to send to you(we own your four) so we will just buy them on Ebay -pay more and ask that they be sent to you-

Thanks - Hak has got them for days but there is some issues with his LPM - sorry for the delay - it should have been resolved much sooner.

Just an update: the new 10x beam expander and adapter for PL-E Pro are available now - i've just updated it in another GB which's just started today.

Thanks to Trevor I am now graphing again- Peregrine is still a work in progress but I like it and it did not take a long-ass time to learn like another soft was.

my graphs are on my laptop so i will add those when I get to my 'office' and can use free wifi BUT here are the readings on a very nice PL-E mechcanical 532 in the dark green host to keep with the JL tradition of extreme overspec i have applied for a label change to offer this one as a 400/532- One member has dibbs but if he passes it may be up for grabs- I like it a lot but need all my $$ for projectors these days- (see my new GB)-- its focusable w/nice beam profile not much mode hopping for a DPSS and the price(TBA) should make it an attractive laser- these will soon all be gone and as the new pro line is NOT made to add the second batt tube and battery it will get grabbed up by those who own a pair of 26650s- I have None to add to this deal nor do I have a MATCHING second battery tube but I DO have a sliver Batt tube to add.

tThose with ODC will not like that but it looks very cool to me- I can add one Nitecore I2 for an additional 15$.

I can ship this laser to CONUS for less than 20$ insured.
add two HIGH quality 18650s for 18$ the pair free sleeves included- power is very nearly the same as two KKs but recharging happens sooner. WBP just confirmed the IR on these and says they are as good as he has evry seen.

need li-ions 16650 for your new Ti-B? 17650s are good too but not sure about the length of the 17670s ESPECIALLY if you get button tops--
